Why are you attempting to add realism? If you wanted to be even remotely realistic you'd mod the gun out of the game entirely as it's a joke that it would still be around
You know why the old earth assault rifle in the game has a fire rate of 900 RPM by default? It's because Bethesda originally intended the AS VAL, which does have a fire rate of 900 RPM and is military version of the old earth hunting rifle (VSS), to be the old earth assault rifle. Later on they decided to give that role to the AK, probably to add variety, but they forgot to tune down the rate of fire.
As for whether they would still be around in 300 years time, the question should be, why not? Crossbow hunting is still a thing today, despite the crossbow itself being an ancient invention. The English long bow, a medieval weapon, was brought to America for hunting use by the first English settlers. The Katana, another thousand-year old design, is still being made today and is treasured by the weaboo and the mallninja community around the world. Why would the AK disappear?
Way I see it, the AK'd be modded into the game anyways if it wasn't there, and with the right fire-rate. I really don't see why you're complaining with that in mind.
Here is an officer with 23 years of service in the military. And I shot a lot from AK =) For the AK, 600 rounds per minute is the rate of fire (that is, if there was a magazine or tape with a capacity of 600 rounds, the AK would shoot them with continuous fire for 1 minute). There is a concept of combat rate of fire, which takes into account the loss of time for reloading weapons, aiming and transferring fire from one target to another (if there are several targets). The combat rate of fire is a more realistic figure from practice and is always less than the rate of fire. In the tactical and technical characteristics of the weapon, it is always the rate of fire that is indicated, and not the combat rate of fire. So on the whole, my friend, you did everything right - you indicated exactly the rate of fire. 👍
Thank you for the feedback. I have updated Option B of this mod and increased the muzzle rise per shot a bit for gameplay balance. Please let me know if you think it's overdone as I have no idea how much kick the real thing has.
I've used this for adding recoil. You can't directly edit this under its 'Weapon' category unfortunately. Copy as override any attachment of your choice (say like the standard barrel) for the OldEarthAssaultRifle under Object Modification. Then add a new property to the attachment and use:
Float MUL+ADD Weapon (AAMDL) - Aim Model - Base Stability -0.25 (or whatever percentage you want to reduce by) -0.25 (or whatever percentage you want to reduce by)
Thanks for the heads up. I managed to find a recoil section under starfield.esm/aim mode, and increased the parameters min per shot and max per shot by about 50% each. Didn't end up altering the base stability because I didn't like the idea of increasing sway when aiming down sight.

You might want to talk to him to see if he has some insight into the recoil bit of things.
AFAIK, his mod doesn't change the recoil, but he might know how.
