Healthcare has entered the 24th century in the Settled Systems. You’ll never have to sort through your inventory in the field again – SmartDoc from Reliant Medical will do it for you. SmartDoc is an AI healthcare solution that will monitor your vitals in the field, keep track of the healing items in your inventory—and AUTOMATICALLY apply the right Medpack or medicine whenever you activate it.
How Does SmartDoc work?
Whenever you activate the SmartDoc, it will automatically check your vital stats—your current health as well as any injuries or afflictions you might have—and automatically apply the medicines in your inventory that you need at that time. Healing items if you need healing, and the various blue/red/orange/yellow/purple medicines if you have afflictions. You can even customize whether SmartDoc will prioritize humble Medpacks or mighty Emergency Kits, depending on your battle state. You can favorite SmartDoc to a hotkey of your choice for One Stop Healing. No need to use multiple hotkeys for multiple aid items. Make healing easy!

Startup and Use
Just open your inventory, and you should have a SmartDoc in your inventory.
Favorite it to a button you choose.
On the first use, you will be prompted to choose what order your would like to use your health aid items.
By default, during combat it will prioritize speed of healing (Emergency Kit, then Trauma Pack, then Med Pack).
By default, when out of combat, it will prioritize value of healing (Med Pack, then Trauma Pack, then Emergency Kit)
If you want to change your choices, go to into the Reliant Medical Exam Room in New Atlantis and use SmartDoc to be prompted to make a new choice.
To cure an affliction just use SmartDoc and it will try to use an item in your inventory to cure the afflication
If you drop/sell/lose your SmartDoc, just save and reload. You will have a new one in your inventory.
FAQ
Do I still need to carry Med Packs/Trauma Packs/Emergency Kits?
- Yes. SmartDoc will only use items you have in your inventory.

I had two afflictions and SmartDoc only cured one!

I had two afflictions and SmartDoc used two items instead of a single one that I had.
- Currently in Starfield, all items cure their affliction completely. There appears to be disabled code for Survival for the future, where weaker cures will only partly cure afflictions. When Survival mode is released, SmartDoc will hopefully be updated to be that smart. Until then, it just cures one at a time without consideration for multiheal cures.
SmartDoc always appears in my New Items!
- Yeah that's annoying. Known issue. Not sure I can fix that with the current implementation. If that's the reason not to use the mod, so be it.
