Thanks for the mod! Any chance of updating this so the wall safe places on the wall and not the floor? That's the only issue I've experienced, otherwise it works perfectly.
Any chance this mod will be updated? Currently this mod's usage of sTestFile syntax makes Starfield ignore Plugins.txt and will as such break any number of mods.
I am going crazy with the storage torture this game features and I can't seem to find any alternatives to this mod, but I'm not gonna waste my time installing this when install instructions conflict with Plugins.txt, I'd rather die a slow death due to encumbrance while shooting alien beasts in the face.
From the Nukem Plugins.txt Enabler: "Notice: Plugins.txt will be ignored if any sTestFile INI variables are used. Delete them and migrate to plugins.txt instead. This is an intentional decision in Starfield's code."
This mod was working fine for me until the update to Starfield on 21-11-23. Since then, when I try to load a save I get "This save relies on content that is no longer present. Some objects may no longer be available. Continue Loading ? OutpostStorage.esp ".
I still have the OutpostStorage.esp file in the Data folder, and still have the "sTestFile1=OutpostStorage.esp" line in my StarfieldCustom.ini file (under 'General').
Is there an issue with the mod after the update somehow ?
I am in the middle of a mission and can't quit it to go back to my outpost to see if the bottomless crates are gone or if their contents are all gone, or if it's all fine. Anyone else have this ?
I figured it out. Looks like I needed to add the StarfieldCustom.ini to my <user>\Documents\mygames\starfield folder. I already had it in my game install directory, not sure if I had placed one in my "mygames/starfield" folder previously and it got deleted with the recent update, or what, but copying the ini file from my game directory to the "mygames/starfield" directory got it sorted.
Esp files don't load in Starfield. I installed this, and yes, it did not load. They have to be esm's. Without a stable working version of xedit, I'm unable to try converting to an esm myself. I don't know if that'd even work. And even esm's can be tricky. Starfield isn't yet really compatible with the old "plugins.txt". It works. And I am using a plugins file. I also us the StarfieldCustom.ini file to load esm's, as some esm files won't load via the plugins file. ( I go to the ends to try and get mods to work.) I even rename your file esm from esp, in the same way you can rename esl files in Fallout 4 to esp. Didn't work...duh. I'd be nice if you could republish your mod as an esm rather than an esp. If you've read all this...thanks. Oh, there is one, and only one, container in the vanilla storage menu that has infinite capacity. It's the unassuming blue cooler thing. Looks like a skinny igloo cooler.
Your Custom.ini is off mate. .Esp AND .Esm files work just fine....as long as your custom.ini file is Correcltly loading things. This mod works Perfectly, as long as all your "sTestFile" loads are in order in your Custom.ini. Might have downloaded a Custom.ini.....most of those you need to Customise to YOUR game. Usually paste/copy is NOT reccommended, since most have their own stestfiles loading.
If that is all you already knew, well, F me, lol. :) If not, always good to double check what your Custom.ini is trying to load. That CAN F up your game stability. Just fyi.Take it or leave it. Trying to help mate. :) One love.
By the way, you can spawn you very own Starborn Cargo Hold that comes with -/- (Infinite) storage.
Just open the console and type.... player.placeatme 1FFFE5 Then open the console and click on the new cargo hold and type.... SetActorRefOwner Player Finally, with the cargo hold still selected, type..... IsActorRefOwner The last step will let you know if Player (You) is the owner of it now.
Might need to use TCL for placement onto a wall.
And there ya go, an unlimited capacity, cool looking Cargo hold you can put anywhere it seems. I've placed two so far, one inside my Starborn ship and the other inside my Dream Home. Haven't had any problems or lost loot yet, so seems safe so far. Enjoy. :)
**Side note: if 1FFFE5 doesn't work, it might be something else for your game, dunno. If so, just search...... help "cargo hold" in the console. Should give you 2 results. Hope that helps, just in case the ID is different. Have fun. :)
Was looking for a way to increase the sotrage container capacity (Seriously, Bethesda, a semi-size shipping container can only hold 150 kilos? What are you smoking, and can I have some?). This isn't it, but it works fine for now. At least I can leave all my mats at my outpost. When the CC comes out that default capacity is getting fucked in the ass with a rusty razor-wire chainsaw drenched in Tabasco sauce, I guarantee that.
"Was looking for a way to increase the sotrage container capacity" 1. Open console 2. Click on container (make sure that the selected ref has the CONT type) 3. Type "setav carryweight 5000" (or any desired value) 4. Done No mods required
works on all containers/items in outpost as well i have simple 1 of each container with 500k mass each thank you so much idk how i didnt think of this tbh!!!
In order to get it to work DO NOT LOOK AT THE CONTAINER when you open the console command, after its open then click on the container and execute the command(so far works on outpostcontainer, kinda want to try the cargo transfer ship to see if it works
You absolutely can look at the container, you just have to not be in the container. Just walk up to it, face it, open console, click the container so it displays the "CONT" and then put in your command.
I use: setav carryweight 2147483646 because it's a 32bit number and the highest it can be is "2147483648" so I leave 2 for a buffer. I don't think it needs it, but my brain likes it.
The big question is how can we link these infinite chests to our crafting
If you put them in the big blue ship transfer crate, then that is accessible when crafting. I just do all my crafting in my ship though because I know that connects, so i haven't tested crafting normally in the outpost..
I used to use Achievement Enabler that worked fine, but had the bug where it said "Warning: Achievements will be disabled", but they would still be earnt like normal. I tested it early on with the "Go To Space" achievement. I think Starfield Achievement Enabler is better because it doesn't rely on SFSE being used/updated, but I only just installed it, so your milage may vary.
None of this weightless stuff is working for me. Not the mods not this console command. "don't look at the box?" I don't understand. Also where exactly does the .esp file go? which data folder there are 2.

its so funny, but it's addictive. It’s better to use modifications, especially ones that you can’t get into with your own hands.

Use either:
Baka Achievement Enabler (SFSE) or Starfield Achievement Enabler
