My intention with creating Shipshape Sanity wasn't really to make a cheat mod. The point of this mod was to reduce the mass of pieces that, otherwise, gave no benefit to the player.
If the TN series of mods adds functionality to those pieces, then they are no longer adding mass to your ship, without giving you a benefit. Adding bonuses and benefits to those parts, while still removing their excess mass, edges a bit too far into the cheat category to fall within the scope of this mod.
I already uploaded a version of this mod that works with Better Ship Part Flips. As for the others... maybe, depending on whether doing so means copying someone else's entire mod (that's no bueno), but I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for it.
Without any other info, I'm afraid I can't help you.
When is it crashing? On startup? On starting a new game? On loading an existing save? On loading an existing modded save?
Do you have any other mods running? What are those mods? Do any of them have an ESM file? Are you using Mod Organizer and does that version have Starfield support? Do you have plugins enabled?
This mod is about as simple as it gets: All it does is change one number on some ship parts, two numbers on another two parts, and uses the numbers on one ship part with the mesh of another. I have no idea why this mod would crash a game that is set up properly for mods.
Even trying to use my mod and another mod that changes the same ship parts as mine, at the same time, should just cause the mod loaded first to be overruled by the mod loaded last, unless there is some really freaky stuff being done by that other mod, and those changes were already baked into your saves.
Same issue here. The game crashes immediately after the Starfield legal info screen.
But this helps me troubleshoot another problem I'm having. I'm one of the many who can't get Plugins Text Enabler to work or load any mods. Every mod I've tried so far fails to load, but like an insane person I keep trying again and again to see if I have a different outcome. Well, with Shipshape Sanity I indeed had a different outcome: the game crashes on startup. At least this tells me the game is recognizing plugins.
Same crash. It begins to load up, I see the legal and photosensitivity information, Reshade loads for a second, and then it crashes. Happens only when this is installed. Removed all of my other mods, tested it with just this, still happened.
crashes for me too, with same issues as the others that reported, although I am using a couple of other ship related mods but no conflicts were detected here is the list >>
Better Ship Part Snaps Better Ship Part Flips
I thought it may be flips since it relates to the decorative parts as well, but no joy, my game still crashes with your mod activated with all others disabled kind of weird but it's good to know that I'm not the only one having this issue
Have you downloaded the most recent file? Mine is working without issue.
My mod has zero overlap with Better Ship Part Snaps, so that definitely isn't an issue. Better Ship Part Snaps edits the Moveable Static and Snap Template records, while mine only touches Generic Base Forms.
There are a few overlapping areas with Better Ship Part Flips, though, as I expected. I can add a patch for people wanting to use both, it shouldn't take more than a minute or two (famous last words).
EDIT: I've added an alternate version of my mod, which can be used with Better Ship Part Flips. I went with this, instead of a patch, so users don't have to have an extra .esm file in their load order. It requires, and must be loaded after, Better Ship Part Flips.
So looks like it crashed everyone. But after downloading the replacement, it seems to run smoothly now. I have not yet tested whether this mod works as intended yet.
Not quite everyone: My game wasn't crashing, and the mod was getting endorsements before I uploaded the second file. Hopefully, though, it works for everyone now.
First time I filled out my ship with cowlings the trade was that it would move like a pig even with lots of power.
I'm on the fence on all the structural parts weighing 1 though. I mean, all the mass from decorative structure is probably why most of the ships you can purchase are so underpowered. Logically, it makes sense because they seem to just be mostly structural braces with skins on and maybe most ships shouldn't have a maneuverability of 100. I wonder if reducing the weight will give NPC ships more power for weapons, speed, or shields when you fight them!
On that cross-brace, yeah, it really sticks out as being really off to such a degree that it should probably be part of the community patch to reduce it. It was probably a mistake by one dev who added it. :)
Great job with the engine. I've noticed that the other 01,02,03 series parts generally have the same basic shape presumably so using the "upgrade" button would work better. I never have used that though.
