Question. I disabled the mod and switched to a different one that eliminates duplicate npcs. However, even with the mod disabled, the duplicates from this mod are still there. Any way to get rid of them?
Everyone still super caucasian looking also any NPC wearing a hat has their hair sticking out of the top sides and back. Guys wearing beanies have pony tail sticking out of the back of the beanie, looks really weird. I also have Starqueen skin and robert S body replacer installed. Not sure if that matters.
Not quite ready to file a bug (in case I'm making a mistake, or have load order interference), but I've noticed that crowd hand/arm skintones don't match the face skintones. AFAICT, the hands/arms are getting a skintone from EncCrowdFace<>, but the face is ending up as STON 2 (or there abouts). I'm checking by overriding (removing) all the light skin races from the NPC leveled list so that it's easier to track down.
Confirmed on a clean game: (bare "coc NewAtlantisSpaceport", with only this mod): The mod doesn't work like I'd expect since the face parts are ignoring skintone, while the bodies are picking up the correct ones. Now I'll file a bug.
The mod looks great, and the faces are more realistic and overall much better than before.
It does seem the faces are also mostly white / young, and a lot of the women look like Andreja. I think it would be great if you could adjust the faces to include more old and dark skinned folks, so we get closer to the original variety of face types!
I liked the previous variety of faces, but did not like the weird posing and staring. Your mod has done a great job of fixing the weirdness of the crowds, thanks!
After reading your comment I took a long look at the random NPCs walking around on Jemison and Neon. Older people and black people do not spawn. At all. Perhaps a recent Bethesda patch or some unintended bug caused it. The female NPCs I did see around on Neon with black features had Michael Jackson-like complexions. This is a nice mod and I'm hoping learn about the NPC issue and see more human diversity come back to it.
I knew I was not crazy. I see mostly white, asian and hispanic citizens, but no black or brown skinned folks except for named NPCs & generic crew members. Even those citizens that have African or Hindi features have a light brown MJ-like complexion similar to the NPC Tommy. xEdit does show that they are coded in the mod, but for some reason they don't show up
Yeah I can confirm that this is still happening. Shame as the mod looks good and you can even see black NPCs in the screenshots, but for whatever reason this is bugged ingame. It's more immersive breaking to not have any black or brown NPCs than to see the NPCs improved visually. I guess Im just going to keep using the Crowd Eyes Fix.
I believe that Bethesda upgraded their crowds in the meantime. Exploring the CK I've seen crowd actor maps, which look fine, and they do look okay to me in the vanilla game as well.
Nothing wrong, you realize in 100 years after the collapse of regular society, mixed genetics becomes far more common (and having a much different environment of living on planets or in space their whole lives), hence it shouldn't be a surprise if white is less 'white' and black is less 'black'.
I'm more confused why people's diet and habits leads to them looking overweight when in fact it should be the opposite, they have access to better tech and knowledge, and even has freaking 'enhance' shops to change their looks. Imagine how powerful it could be to manipulate genetics at a molecular level and change your identity and even gender? You could theoretically combat even the harshest disease through those manipulations alone... Make a old person young again, resetting your 'cellular clock' and all that.
At that point, it's not really about 'race' anymore, it's more like completely different species of humans.
I too just noticed that most of the folks walking around are of the lighter skinned variety, where as before I installed the mod it was completely opposite, you couldn't find a light skinned person and especially a light skinned person with eyes other than brown anywhere, believe me I looked lol. Would be nice to see a better mixture of all the different types of people. I absolutely love this mod though, the vanilla people look like total s#*! in comparison. Thank you mod maker for making this. Maybe adjust it a bit so we can have more variety prease.
Not only this mod doesn't work as intended anymore, but it caused my game to crash every couple of hours, even on new games. Luckily I only had 3 other super basic mods, so it was somewhat easy to identify this one as the culprit. Though in my case I'm talking about the Creations version of the mod.
Mod requires an update due to the asset mapping changes Bethesda made in the latest game update. edit: also the "Plugins.txt Enabler mod" has been made obsolete and no longer needed for a long while now.
Seem to be suddenly getting invisible bodies from some crowd NPC's in New Atlantis, caused by missing clothing textures. Not sure if this is in relation to Shattered Wallet DLC changing some things around but started recently after completing DLC.
