The installation has changed from the Starfield.ini to the StarfieldCustom.ini in your Documents/My Games/Starfield folder. Please change this now as when the game updates, if you are using the Starfield.ini it will reset.
Maybe try using an esm file to load your ba2 files automatically so people don't have to add lines of text to their custom ini files? It's easy to do. Just a suggestion, obviously.
I shall have patience and await this update but just want to thank you for your mods, including this one. I think it's likely most folks are asking for the separate version as they may be using Eyes of Beauty or another mod.
hmmm, ok CnRJay... can you clarify something for me please... The screencap you posted in response to this comment shows the custom additions (4k_hair, 4k_beards) at the BEGINNING of the list... but on the description page under installation instructions it says "to the very END of the list"...
Has something changed since this comments response on Sep. 4th? Or am I just sleep deprived and missing something obvious (truly a possibility, lol).
BTW, I am truly looking forward to using your mods!! Thanks for sharing your work!
Yea this comment is not correct anymore. They should always be put at the very end of the list, as the game is hardcoded for that list to be the same no matter what. But adding to the end works.
If you guys go to Collections, he has bundled all his stuff there making it much easier to install via vortex and more importantly, keep it up to date when he releases new stuff
i'm pretty sure i followed your instructions exactly, and it resulted in all of my game textures turning black, which persisted even after i removed the files and changed the Starfield.ini back to normal, so i had to verify game files to fix the issue. any idea what i might have done wrong?
The only time I had the textures turn black was when I tried to use the StarfieldCustom.ini. I haven't had black textures since using the Starfield.ini in the game directory. I'm guessing you're using the steam version?
that's right! and i definitely edited the Starfield.ini with the lines you posted. i actually copy/pasted them from one of your replies here, idk if that did something wonky or not.
EDIT: okay yes, i typed them in by hand and it's working fine now! looks wonderful!
I had the same issue all the textures in the game were messedup and and flickinger black. I had to uninstall and reinstall the game to fix it. After reading this I typed them in manually and it fixed the issue and everything looks amazing!
I wish there was more detailed instructions and warnings to be extra careful changeing the Starfield.ini file xD
