Those who're updating from a version prior to 1.15 should remove the Shield Systems perk with player.removeperk 2C2C59 before updating and then use player.addperk 2C2C59 after updating to regain the perk. Otherwise there's a chance it'll be bugged until the next NG+.
If you're updating from 1.10 - 1.13 then you should also remove the Wellness perk with player.removeperk 2ce2e1 before updating and then use player.addperk 2ce2e1 after updating to regain the perk.
Probably wouldn't be too hard to open this next to Starfield.esm and the latest version of Starfield Community Patch that dropped today, and then look at Skill Fixes records to see if any of them need to be updated to forward any vanilla changes and SFCP fixes. That's what I'm going to do today, and I'll let you know if I find anything that I change to make it current, or if no changes are needed.
I'm taking a look at it soon. Feel free to look yourselves but I know the order that the data for the challenges is listed in gets randomized every time Bethesda makes an update. It should be functionally the same but it's a bit harder to compare.
I looked and it looks like the main thing (maybe the only thing, if the progression evaluator arguments order doesn't matter) that needs to be updated are the new PEO_LLS_VendorCredits LVLIs that Bethesda added for the game setting option that determines how many extra credits vendors have. Those leveled list entries just need to be added to SkillFixes LVLIs whereever they are missing. Otherwise, the only consequence to running the current version of Skill Fixes without any updates is that the setting for vender credits in the game settings menu will have zero effect. I made a patch for this already in case anyone might want to use it while they wait for Argonil, but sounds like Argonil is already looking into it, and it's not a very huge update that's needed. So I'm guessing an official Skill Fixes update is going to get dropped very shortly.
So it seems something may have happened in the game over the last couple of updates. I was using the "Skill Fixes - No Challenges" version. I was getting an issue where the game was crashing after I spoke to one of the generic NPCs on a planet who give you the repeatable quests (Such as finding the gas vents or fix the generator). Talking to these NPCs would cause the game to ctd whenever trying to load a save made after speaking to them. It didn't matter if you took the quest or not. If you didn't talk to them, the game worked just fine, but sometimes they approach you and force you into dialogue. I also like them sometimes for the quick xp.
I was getting the "Unhandled exception 'EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION' Starfield.exe" error. in the crash log. I used version 1.15 of this mod and had it since Feb. 2024. I never downloaded any of the previous versions of it. It wasn't until the last couple of game updates this happened. I checked through all of my mods one by one and it was disabling this mod that solved the problem. I even kept this one until after checking all of the others.
I really hate the challenges for the perks before being able to get a perk. I also liked the changes and fixes this mod made to perks. I picked No Challenges version because the challenges get to be ridiculous. There is no reason my high leveled stealth sniper should suddenly have to do unarmed/melee sneak attacks to level up concealment. It makes no sense!
I have a couple of mods from Inquisitor that make changes to Gymnastics, Lasers, Ballistics and dueling. should these mods be loaded before or after yours? do you know if these will conflict with each other? not sure what files may be altered in these mods that might be shared.
Yes. There has been 1 report that it still happens but everyone else say that it's been fixed for them. I believe the fix has also been incorporated into the SFCP after I sent the fix to Pickysaurus.
Ah, okay. Unfortunately the problem is still occuring for me, despite having both SFCP loaded as well as this mod loaded afterward (just the main mod, not the concealment related optional file), so I asked to find out if I should even be expecting it to be fixed. So I guess I can count for report #2 on this still happening.
It's not exactly my goal to completely get rid of it. "If you don't like that it has a bug, just don't use it" is a suggestion I've rarely ever seen taken as a solution, considering that people trying to troubleshoot a bug are generally people you can assume want to use the thing. But for what it's worth, I still appreciate the suggestion because it's good to know about that mod in case that ever becomes my goal.
Well, there's not much more that can be done about it other than the fixes I've already implemented. If you had a Chameleon item equipped when you installed the fix then try reequipping it. If that doesn't work then you can try using console commands to remove the Concealment perk and add it back. Other than that there's not much troubleshooting left to do.
Thanks for the tips. I'll give those a shot, and if I find I'm stilled vexed by the bug afterward, then hopefully the fix starts working for me after starting a new game or after Bethesda pushes an update. or something.
They haven't implemented any of the fixes from this mod. I'm kinda shocked that they edited the Rejuvenation perk without fixing the bug, like come on guys...

I found the cause, it's one of the optional mods specifically "Particle beams are lasers"

I also haven't found any changes which conflict with the mod in the latest game update.
