dumb question, is this just the human bodies or does it also apply to destroyed Turrets?
Because i was just boarding an enemy Ship, there was only one way between two desks and there was a turret that completely blocked my way, had to undock and shoot the ship instead.
Did you have the Plugins.txt or the sTestFile section added to your StarFieldCustom.ini?
I was only able to finally install and active the mod as a loose file and using the sTestFile edit to the ini
Credit is certainly due as the mod works well. But without the extra steps which are not clarified in the post description, its a hassle to get the mod working.
Hmm, thank you for clarifying. It's weird as I followed the Plugins.txt installation instructions and am using the most recent MO2 version and could not get this mod to activate. It would install but I could not toggle it to be active under my plugins.
Edit: Found it. Tools>settings>plugins and look for starfield support plugin in the list of games in the left window and toggle it TRUE in the window on the right
Where is that setting? I have the latest version of Mo2 and I do not see it. Presumably I'm missing it somewhere.
When I go to walk over top of the bodies, it blocks me from walking over top of them as if I am walking into a wall. It is so bad I am considering uninstalling the mod because it causes more problems than it solves.
How do I tweak it to allow me to walk over top of the bodies without getting stuck? Can we adjust variables for this?
I appreciate the heads up. If people (like myself) also having issues with the plugins.txt setup, I would be using that method, as thats what I tried first.
Are there any quests that this conflicts with? In Skyrim you couldn't get to the chopping block because of the person getting killed first and your character not being able to stand in that spot because of collision.
I had the same mod in Skyrim, never had that issue. Chopping block was furniture, furniture ignores physics because you get animation locked. Can't imagine it'd be an issue tbh.
Would this not load normally if I install it with Vortex? I'm hesitant to try using this without that "plugins.txt" thing in case it corrupts how my other 30+ mods load.
Update: I can confirm that just doing the Standard install with Vortex (and no Plugins.txt) does not work.
However, I've learned that there is a default action, holding the 'interact' key, that lets you drag dead bodies around and some other boxes and objects as well, but only some.
Update 2: For those needing actually helpful instructions for installing with Vortex:
Step 1: install the Plugin.txt mod from Nukem via Vortex. Step 2: Edit/Create the plugin.txt file in the C:\%localappdata%\Starfield folder to look like this # This file is used by Starfield to keep track of your downloaded content. (You HAVE to keep a # on the first line here) #[Main Starfield Plugin] *Starfield.esm #[Offical DLCs] # #[Creation Club Content or ESL plugins with a master flag] #[Other mods] *Dead Body Collision.esm
Step 3: Install this mod via Vortex. [You should see the "Dead Body Collision.esm" file in your Steam Game install's Data folder when done.] [Done]
I just tested it using this installation method, and it works great now. Simply running into bodies sends them rolling.

Would it be possible to make a "Disable Follower Collision" Mod?
Starfield needs a mod like this: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/35925
I have a ship with tight hallways, it's a nightmare having to get around my Crewmates. Sometimes just TCL through them lol

For anyone who is having issues installing, this is how I was able to get the mod working.
Download the mod and extract KillableChildren.esm to this location:
C:\Users\YourUserName\Documents\My Games\Starfield\Data
Then navigate to:
C:\Users\YourUserName\Documents\My Games\Starfield
And create StarfieldCustom.ini (or edit if it already exists)
Make sure the contents looks something like this:
[Archive]
bInvalidateOlderFiles=1
sResourceDataDirsFinal=
[General]
sTestFile1=Dead Body Collision.esm
Then launch the game and test out the mod to confirm it works.
You can place sequential rows for any other .esm mods you may want to install.
E.g.
[General]
sTestFile1=Dead Body Collision.esm
sTestFile2=UnlimitedRunning.esm
sTestFile3=NoCarryweightLimit.esm
STestFile4=StarWarsLightsabers.esm
