I am very new to modding, so please excuse any questions that are obvious to the pros.
I am trying to install StartUI Configurator along with several of the other UI mods. I am using Vortex to do this. Upon installation (and subsequent attempts a re-installation), I get a message for the other mods that "Vortex detected # FOMODs which are using the deprecated Vortex plugin option. This option is no longer required and will cause the FOMODs to deploy incorrectly.. Vortex will attempt to fix the FOMODs for you..." If I don't apply the fix, the mod doesn't work in game, but I can use the Configurator to change the mod setup. If I do apply the fix, the mod works in game, but Configurator says it can't find the ini files.
When they are working, I really like these mods and would like to make sure I have them properly installed. Any idea of what is going on?
In case it is relevant, these are the mods I have installed:
Address Library for SFSE Plugins - All in one - V10 (1.10.32.0) SFPTE-1_2(SFSE-1_8_86) SFSE Show Star Names StartUI Configurator StartUI Hud StartUI Inventory StartUI Outpost StartUI Workbench Take All to Ship
This took me a minute too. I'll tell you what's working for me:
Firstly, apply the FOMOD fix that Vortex requires.
Secondly, make sure you're using the correct Configurator.bat file; I have two of them on my system! One is located in "Steam\steamapps\common\Starfield\Data" and the other is located deep into your "User\AppData\...\Data" folder. You want to use the former, but if you "Right-click -> Open in File Manager" inside Vortex it will take you to the latter.
Once I found out I was looking at the incorrect Configurator file, things worked very smoothly. lol.
Superfluous comment: I actually found a different solution at one point. At the time, I only had StarUI HUD installed and wasn't getting the Vortex FOMOD errors, but the Configurator (inside \AppData) wasn't working. I didn't know about the other one. I don't remember exactly, but I moved some folder related to the "\Data" and "\Data\Data" redundant setup. Whatever I did let StarUI HUD work while letting the user\AppData...\Configurator.bat file work. The Vortex FOMOD fix gets rid of the redundant Data folder without the \AppData...\Configurator.bat file working, so no idea what Vortex and I did differently.
Everything seems to work fine. I move the Player Health bar to top center of screen. Reload a saved game, and the bar moves where I expected it based on the X/Y entered.
Problem seems to be, every time I zone into a different area, or in/out of the ship, it resets back to the default position.
All I have to do it save and immediately load the saved file and it moves back where I want it.
The configurator tool does not find the .ini files in the interface folder. I go to the EXACT folder and I can see it clear as day in there. Why is the tool not recognizing it in there???
is the item tag suppose to reset ingame after closeing the inv window ? or do i need to set that up in the StarUI Configurator so the item tag stay checked ?
How do you even use this in MO2 ? I downloaded it, installed in my MO2 folder, checked all of my mods then double clicked it, went to filetree and loaded up the .hta files but it just shows the GUI with nothing selectible like it is not reading any of my mods. Your install literally says to do exactly that ?
I JUST MOVED STARFIELD AND VORTEX TO A NEW FASTER D: drive and now I cant get the starui to load...its not creating the \data directory so it cant find the ini files...im also getting fomods errors

ini settings are not changing anything
Is this true?
