No, it's not something a mod like this could do. The only way to horizontally boost is to bind an alternate key - there are people who have figured out how to do it with console controllers, but as far as I'm aware, it's still a bit tedious. I believe there are several guides available online about how to do it.
i use reWASD to map the A button to the alt key specified for horizontal boost on keyboard. you also need to map the WASD keys for movement, as the horizontal boost key is somehow also connected to the keyboard WASD. i.e. you cant just map the A button as the analogue wont push you forward. i also mapped the left analogue to to the mouse turn. it works fairly well, but i could not turn while aiming last time tried it.
I used JoytoKey instead of reWASD. Tried A to alt jump key and sticks for movement. Had all sorts of problems. Mapped A to alt jump key and W. That way I didn't have to fiddle with the sticks. Seems to be working without issues.
If using controller use Steam to add modeshift to Right Bumper to change between A button jump and Alt key jump. I use mode shift double tap which changes A to Alt key and also use mode shift to walk/jog by double tapping Left Bumper. To add modeshift go into controller setting in steam for Starfield, click drop down arrow not settings wheel in buttons (A,B,X,Y) add mode shift, change A button to Left Alt (or whatever keyboard button for second jump type) and make sure to map B,X,Y to B,X,Y that way you can still use the buttons in mode shift. Click settings on mode shift Alt,B,X,Y you'll see a "mode shift button" select Right Bumper. Now go to Right Bumper (scroll down) click on mode shift Right Bumper settings (command 2) change to double tap (or whatever you prefer). DONE. Remember to also change Starfield keyboard mapping settings second jump button to Left Alt or else this will not work.
To "walk" add mode shift to Left Stick have button be Left bumper for mode shift. Click settings for left stick mode shift, change Horizontal and Vertical Scale to 60% or less (just under jog speed 40% is walk speed). IF overnumbered you'll still jog without losing stamina. To annoying to juggle with vanilla controller settings. I don't like stopping to wait for stamina id rather keep moving.
Looking at the mod all it does is this: 'Player.SetAV BoostpackHorizontalPercentage 4.5'
In-game is there a "horizontal boost" control I have not been aware of? That would be awesome if so!
But I still don't get why there is rebind requirement as the above player property change would simply effect any use of the boostpack, which currently is activated when I press triangle on my PS4 controller that I use on my PC. Jumping is so integral there is no way I would rebind that key to my keyboard and take it off my controller.
I made my own speed mod to change my player speed and that works whether I use a controller, mouse, or keyboard to move, so why is jump/boost different where it supposedly behaves in a different manner if you jump with a keyboard keystroke vs a game controller button press?
Adding the secondary binding to the jump key is required even in an unmodified game, as stated in the description, to use the horizontal mode on the boost pack.
What this mod does is it increases the power of that horizontal boost, which differs from pack to pack, being the most noticeable on skip packs and the least noticeable on power packs.
What your mod does is increases the speed of the player in general, which many consider to be cheating and can make some movement interactions harder to accomplish due to the increased general speed you're moving at.
I noticed you haven't endorsed the mod. If for some reason it didn't work for you, I've uploaded a new version which has the command delayed so it fires off properly even for people with longer than average load times. Give it a try and let me know if it works - and if you like it, I'd appreciate the endorsement :)
For some reason this doesn't work. Got a bunch of other CCR that work as intended. Not sure why this one doesn't. Using console command to set it myself works.
Couldn't tell you. I've verified it works in my game with both CCR and manual command. Are you sure you're not just using a weaker version than is recommended for your pack of choice?
Did some testing - due to the command technically being a player value modifier, if your load times were longer than typical, it would cause the command to fire off earlier than it should which resulted in it not working since the player isn't loaded yet.
I've released a new version which has the command being delayed until after loading is complete - test it out and let me know if it works for you.
Works fine in MO2 ...if you simply click Manual and right click the folder in red called DATA and click set as data folder (Then select the availables to choose your speed thingy) ...most folks been doing that a long time so wont say it either why bother , but i bet its not a hard thing in fomod which doesnt care what a user uses vortex or not so it will certainly get a lot of praise if you do find that fix geehaw a lot ... great mod

Gamepass users I'm not sure how.
