About this mod
A customizable bat file to give you as many backgrounds as you want, with their associated perks, and a rationale. (This is barely a mod, really.)
- Permissions and credits
The rationale: By the time I hit fifty, I had been a soldier, a cook, a baker, a construction worker, a rock singer/songwriter/guitarist, a club and mobile disc jockey, an MC, a sound engineer, a lighting technician, a bouncer, a singing telegram messenger, a salesman, a web developer, a voice actor, owner/sysadmin of my own web hosting service, a published author, and probably several other things I'm forgetting here, and I picked up skills from each of those positions.
Given that according to their histories, some members of Constellation must be in their forties or fifties while still looking fairly young (Sarah, for example, got a degree, joined the military as an officer, and rose through the ranks to be first officer of a ship in a war that ended around twenty years ago, which likely puts her at LEAST in her late forties, or possibly her fifties), it's not unreasonable to assume that many people in Starfield are much older than they look, which could include the player character. This gives plenty of time to dabble in a wide range of careers before trying your hand at mining.
At least that's how I justify this admitted cheat to myself lol
So yeah--take just one or two extra backgrounds, or go hog-wild and take them all; that would give you a total of over sixty free perks. OR you can comment out the perks and just get the extra dialogue. I don't get to tell you how to live your fictional space-life.
Much thanks to digitalutopia1's ESM Explorer for making all the skills easy to look up.
TO USE:
Expand, and drop the text file into your root Starfield directory (the one with Starfield.exe in it). Comment out the backgrounds and perks you DON'T want by putting an ";" in front of them, then fire up your game, open the console, and type "bat AddAllBG" (without the quotation marks).
