Despite how easy the install is for this and how other mods have the same and they worked, I can't seem to load the new skin in the game. I have the files copied to my Documents/Mygames/Starfield/Data but nuthin.
I support the completely black version without the idiotic tape ! Black would be more suitable, because in AK, the process of blackening is used for metal parts. And the rest of the parts can be made of black impact-resistant plastic (wooden parts have not been used for a long time, this is a rarity, lol)
Yeah but a lot of the black weapon mods on here are too black and you lose most if not all details in the weapon in many lighting situations, that's why I said dark grey to basically match the vanilla "black" weapons.
Thanks that looks really good, it seemed stupid they used some old ak design and not something more modern like an ak-12 that would look less out of place.
I always disliked the fact that the AK is the old earth rifle in the game and not an AR or multiple others. This model is a significant improvement and I will be trying it! Great work.
It's pretty much pick your favorite toy until the ck comes out and they manage to make the new nif system make sense. Which I can't wait for cause then all of these can be added as new items.
Yep, SF1Edit/XEdit 4.2 are still in the oven right now, and XEdit is absolutely necessary to add new weapons in.
I've been keeping an eye on the alpha releases, and from what I've seen from the latest release, they're about 85-90% there as far as having deciphered the new categories and such. There's an a$$ load of new fields in the CE2 ESM/ESP/ESL files that didn't exist in CE. Example: aim models for weapons. In Creation Engine, you have an aim model that dictates how many degrees the gun recoils, how stable it is, etc etc. CE2 adds an entirely new category for modifying the aim model based on whether you're standing or kneeling, and the weapon type (melee, 1 handed firearm, 2 handed, heavy weapon) and a bunch of others. And new damage types, quality modifiers, etc etc.
There's a definite learning curve to get ready for, but it also opens up a ton of new things you can do with mods.
I believe that shouldn't be too difficult, as you can add a skin that can be swapped at a weapon crafting station, similar to how you can swap skins for the laser cutter if you have the Old Mars pre-order skin, or the Constellation skins for the Constellation spacesuit/helmet/pack.
