Read the description, there's two "setgs" commands that can either be run via Console each time you start the game, or you can add them to a .txt file in the main game folder and add the as an autorun bat command in your startfieldcustom.ini. See: Troubleshooting Starfield Mods: BAT Files Auto-load Guide (thedroidguy.com)
Tested this through vortex and works as mentioned, however there is this light flicker while looking around. Also you can't really look 360 so for now I would wait on this.
I mean, it's a game setting. It just works if you do it correctly. The CCR runs at startup, did you relaunch the game. Alternatively, you can copy just the part in between the ' marks on each line into the Console manually and change from 1st to 3rd again.
EDIT: And as I said, I thought the setting was 1. I also said keep increasing the number to find it. My initial guess was wrong, the value is 5 for full 360-degree viewing. As for the flickering, that's just the game. Sorry, but that's what you get with this crappy Bethesda Game Engine they keep using. Agin, this is just a game setting tweak. probably why they completely locked the look around down.
I did do it correctly. I followed your steps the mod worked. However as I said it had flickering or like a tone?? change with the space sky??. Like if I moved the camera it would become lighter, then back to dark. This is the main issue I have and care about.
I did relaunch the game, I did try looking around in 3rd person without the mod in space, I did try a bunch of other things and could not replicate the issue without specifically being docked and looking around in 3rd person with this mod. I followed your next step to change it to 1 and it did not work for me that is all. Glad you were able to figure out the number being 5.
The flickering sounds like a lighting issue this game has. I notice it when running around my ship. It may be because I have Native HDR, I don't know. No, you didn't upset me, it's just that isn't a bug with the "mod," because this isn't really a "mod" per say. It is a setting change. So, anything you see is in the game with or without this change. Like I said, maybe that's why they limited the view angle to begin with? I'm not seeing it where I tested it, but maybe it depends on location. I was at the Daimos Shipyard when I was playing with the setting in the console. This is a simple console command and you can play with the values live in-game using the console.
Okay just wondering, I am and I just found the latest DLLs for DLSS and think I might have fixed the flickering I was having with lighting. I haven't seen it in a while since the last comment.

Sorry if I upset you.
