If possible, can you try and mute those new boop noises added in the new update that indicate when you're fed/hydrated? They go off randomly when you open then close the scanner and in a few other places. Very annoying!
I wonder if that annoying "boom-boom" sound when you pick up an item of blue/violet/legendary rarity could ever be muted. It's something similar with Critical Hit sound only it plays twice. I am going to use Critical Hit muter since I made mods that increase Critical Hit Chance for weapons. PS: Chameleon woosh is a simple fix without altering the soundbanks. The sound can be easily removed from 19aFF2.

I only made it because somebody on a mod request thread asked for it, and I've already got the full setup for shutting up annoying sounds: WWise, extracted every sound file in the game and sorted by soundbank sorter, a wem format silent audio file of .2 seconds, a PowerShell script that instantly renames every file in a folder to match every file in another folder, and an app for mass renaming of files. I just copy the offensive sounds into one folder, dump 50 copies of the silent file into another folder, and run PowerShell -- now I have 50 silent files with the filenames of the sounds I need to shut up. Then I use the renaming app to change those files from the easy-to-identify names Soundbank Sorter gave them back into the number-only filenames the game uses. I imagine you have a similar setup, just figured I'd mention it in case you're doing this by hand. It sucks, I know. Been there.
This is how I created the Insect Sound Remover that's part of my arachnophobia mod. There are legit over a thousand insect sound effects and I needed to kill them all without it taking the rest of my life. Actually, you can add that one into your list as well if you want to, though I'm not sure anyone would want it aside from people who are already using the arachnophobia mod. It silences every crawling, skittering, screeching, hissing noise made by insectoid creatures, and some random stuff like that awful squish sound of Cataxi eggsacks.
Also: I see the comment below mine asked about removing the xenogrub sound. Did you look into that closely such that you know something I don't? I haven't actually checked. BUT I can tell you that insect noises are divided by the race, and the xenogrub is going to be either "parasite" or "larva" -- those are small subsets of the insect NPCs. You can silence the parasite sounds and the larva sounds and it will only affect about 10 or so creatures, not all of them.
Yes but they use a generic sound for all insects it looks like. So if you mute them all insects will get muted. I'm not sure what fauna are categorized into this generic category so it might mute some aliens you want. But I'll upload it still and you can install it you want
Man all I want is the Shipbuilder Error Noise to die a gruesome death and it wasn't here. I'll keep my fingers crossed. Until then I'll continue to daydream about snuffing Todd every time I move a ship piece out of the way purposefully forcing me to listen to that goddawful chirp, or however one might describe it.

I tried finding this ages ago for myself too because it godawful but I cannot find it for the life of me. It might be tied into something that wouldn't be normally searchable idk :/
I've been looking for a mod to change the sound of the "sense star stuff" power activation to something way less shrill and annoying. But muting it would also be really nice. If you get a chance to add that I'd greatly appreciate it! Thanks for all your hard work <3
Just the activation of it? In all honesty... I haven't even gotten a single power yet in my one and only lvl 19 character lmao so I have no idea what it sounds like
Yeah, the activation is the most annoying part. there's another sound that happens when you're near someone who was highlighted but that's really quiet so I don't mind it. I like to play stealthy so I use it a lot but god damn it's such a loud, obnoxious sound. If you get around to muting it I'd be super psyched! Thanks again.
Don't think I forgot about you, I've been slowly grinding away at this. But it's 1000+ files I have to change the sound id's for so it's taking a while amongst other mods I'm working on. It's getting there though!
You saved my sanity with the remove scanner highlight sounds option. I'm a looting obsessed person with the scanner on a lot, and the tick tick tick tick of it constantly passing over resource blobs as I'm looking at things (inside even!) was driving me mad. I tried several sound replacers and none of them made it tolerable, so I'm happy to mute the whole thing. Thank you!
