The file structure has been updated to accommodate Vortex installations and the example .ini is now an optional file instead of being packaged with the main .zip
Now that stuff like this exists, would it be possible to make this compatible with mod managers again please? I've already tried manually downloading and dropping it the zip into Vortex, but that didn't work. I could enable/disable the mod but no files were actually added/removed to my Data folder for some reason. Sorry if it already works and I'm just being an idiot that missed a step
Just tried installing it with Vortex again, and unfortunately it doesn't seem to install it correctly. Instead of extracting in the Data folder, it creates a 'WateryEyesFix_brighter' folder and extracts it in there. I think removing the top folder in your mod would fix that, if you don't mind Thank you for the mod anyway!
Their eyes are filled with tears from that horrible green filter that is applied in the game, acting on them like tear fog. Even after the modmakers have removed this filter, they still can't recover so quickly, their eyes need treatment.
I agree that it is overly thick. Regardless of thickness, I feel that unless there's a specific angle of light that creates that shine, it looks a bit unnatural in game in comparison to the environment.
The Dry variant reduces the line to be almost absent but still visible. I didn't want to remove the sclera opacity entirely.
The reason why I uploaded the Semi-Dry variant is to avoid the lifeless look. It's the one that I use in my playthrough and am still able to see the sclera wetness in a less intense way than vanilla.
You cannot currently install texture mods via vortex, they have to be placed manually. Many authors are including the download with mod manager option, but this wont work for texture mods with vortex. Vortex installs mods to the games root data folder (where .exe is). But current texture mods need to be placed to the documents/my games/starfield folder (where saved games are) in a new data/textures folder
EDIT: This issue has seemingly been fixed by disabling Message of the Day in StarfieldCustom.ini add these lines (without spaces):
[General] b Enable Message Of The Day = 0
Then remove the Data folder from "Documents/My Games/Starfield" Now you can install texture mods via vortex and into the usual root game Data folder.
I really hope they'll change that, it's such a bizarre departure from their previous games. My theory is it's related to the ingame photos which can appear as loading screens, and get saved to the documents folder. Perhaps they were lazy and just redirected the entire loose file loading function to the data folder instead of specially handling the photos?
Many games require you to install mods to the "%User%" folder, such as Torchlight and Torchlight 2. There's specific instructions you need to include in your mod archive to tell Vortex to install files to those locations.

Ben is upset, he likes watery eyes.
That's been deep in my brain for a long time. Wasn't there one with a beach ball too?

Thanks!
The problem is that in game it's waaaaaay too thick and should in fact be a hair's width thin line instead of a needle thickness line.
The complete absence of this line on the other hand makes eyes look lifeless.
