    Notes about v1.2.0+: The command line used in the instructions present on this mod gets applied by default to your game save file ( after the user performing a save action ). Which in short means, the settings will be applied by default on startup without the user needing to have any further interaction! In any case If that doesn't happen, just follow the instructions present on the file. The movement speed can be freely edited according to your expectations as also described

    Have fun everyone!

    I would love the ability to Toggle Walk on a controller so I can push the stick all the way without speed running everywhere. This is an open request please

      There's the Hotkey mod (Starfield Hotkeys at Starfield Nexus - Mods and Community (nexusmods.com)), but I haven't figured out yet how it could/would accept key mapping from a controller. Maybe there's a method to do it with some 3rd party software - or Steam?

    Will there ever be a tab to download via vortex?

    Thank you, feels so much better. The beginning is still as if you were to start a 100 m world championship competition run, but that's acceptable. I presume after the CK comes out, new movement styles will be available sooner or later. In the meantime your mod enabled me to not to wait till the happy time after CK release but to play on now.

      The command line changes Walk/Run/Jog speed all in the same command.  There is no way to separate them.  Changing the setting changes all 3.  So yes, it changes the walk speed, you can set the speed manually as well.  Just remember that if you set it to something like 135 your walk speed will be a nice normal walk pace, but your jog and sprint will be incredibly fast.

      I can't believe Bethesda messed this up AGAIN, lol.

      It was so obvious in the first scenes with my new character.

      So silly.

      laziest company around. They are not in the trenches searching and thinking wow these players do not seem to like this lets change this for all. No they never have ever done this!

      Bethesda, bethesda never changes!

      It's the engine.. They can't change it unless they change the engine. The walk/run/jog/sprint is all tied together and even to the fps.. That's why they don't want you going past 60 fps..
      I remember in Fo4 having like 200+ fps and making loading screens super fast but then my character would practically slide across the map and the voice acting would not be synced with the lips.

      I seriously don't get why they can't just use a better engine. Their games just show how far the CE is behind the other engines. I mean for god sake they can't even add vehicles to the game because they wouldn't move any faster than the player.

      @gegezerg if you like your game mods you should stick with CE because the other engines aren't as moddable as this one!

      @gegezerg is not true anymore that the movement speed is tied to the fps, it was true i think for skyrim le/se/ae and fo4 and the first versions of fo76 since then they updated both the fo76 and starfield creation engine to not have the speed tied to fps. I'm not a game developer but i studied development and i think most people ignore the fact that unreal engine is also an "old" engine by the same definition that the CE is an old engine. I'm not entirely sure about what @CALINGA said that other engines are less moddable but i can speculate that it would cost a lot more for bethesda to have the same thing they always gave us (Creation Kit, highly moddable game) with other engines than just update theirs. I mean if your car break and the price is not the same or more of buying another car would you buy a car or repair the old one? If you car doesn't break but you need a new radio do you buy a new car with a new radio or only the radio? I'm actually kinda glad that bethesda have their own engine instead of had to pay for a third party one. Is the CE competitive with other Engines? I don't think so but right now i don't think there's another engine that let us really go almost under the hood like the CE.
      Also i don't think they CAN'T add vehicles is that they didn't want/didn't have the resources to. Bethesda never really had any game with vehicles and developing vehicles is not as "easy" as having a floaty in space "vehicle". I think they did a lot of work on the CE to make it better than before and i'm pretty sure and hope for them that they'll continue to update their engine instead of going to other engines that like unity demonstrated can do some shitty things to companies.

    If I simply uninstall this mod via Vortex will my speed revert back to default values? I am having trouble getting the bat mspeed_uninstall command to report anything other than not found. This mod was automatically installed as part of a larger collection for me and I would prefer the faster default movement speed. Thank you!

      Make sure you have the ''mspeed_uninstall'' file inside your root game folder. The same place where Starfield.exe is located in.
      Once you got it there, open the console command and type: bat mspeed_uninstall

      If you follow the steps above, everything shall work as expected.

    Try testing and adding these, adjust as needed.

    bAimAssistEnabled=1 //(Console like aim assist - weak but present).
    bMagnetismEnabled=1 //(Bullet magnetism, close shots should hit).
    fRThumbDeadzone=0.05 //(Deadzone - Adjust to fit)
    fLThumbDeadzone=0.05 //(Deadzone - Adjust to fit)
    fRThumb Deadzone Max=0.95 //(Deadzone Max - spaces added due to javascript error)
    fLThumb Deadzone Max=0.95 //(Deadzone Max - remove spaces in .ini edits!!!)
    fLookSnapToAxisStrength=0 //(Allows more free movement in the Joystick)

    We really need a mod that adjusts our walking speed to the same as NPCs. It's so annoying having to either walk and lag behind NPC then catch up, or STOP-START non stop.
