    Thanks for this. I've got an issue with the Left Thumb stick too, even mistaking it for an undocumented "auto-walk-feature" for the first couple hours of playing.Very annoying.Shame on the developers not including a slider in the options menu. Granted, it's the first Game I've tried with my new Controller ( Series X pad ) which is showing this issue.
    I've set fLThumbDeadzone=0.5 and it's working fine now.

    I don't know if this mod will fix this issue BUT :

    I'm on PC using a Controller, is it just me? But when scrolling through menus on controller, the scroll skips around; Even on the D-Pad, the scrolling skips. I have to activate my mouse just to click on stuff. I hope this is just an early access thing and a Day one patch is released on sep 6th.

    Example : list of items, Left thumbstick down, skips the second item and goes to the 3rd item.

      that's a Steam issue, disable the Steam Input and all will be fine

      I'm experiencing the exact same problem as OP, and I am playing on Game Pass, so it's not a Steam Input issue. I'm using DS4Windows software to connect my dual shock controller.
      Can you suggest any workaround?

      that's interesting because I also connect wirelessly using Bluetooth
    6. If you're on Win 11, try it without running DS4Windows and just connect your controller to Bluetooth thru windows.
      Look in your notifications tab on the taskbar to see if "wireless Controller" is showing under the Bluetooth icon.
      If it is, it should work natively in Starfield.
      I was getting the double input issues and after trying various settings in DS4W, out of desperation I tried it without DS4W and I haven't had any issues since.
      Btw, I'm using a DS4. I have no idea if this works with a PS5 controller.
      Hope this helps.

    i was looking in the game settings for this, but silly me, bethesda didnt even added a bright or gamma slider, why they would add something so basic like dead zones for contrlers XD thank you so much now i can play with my old controller once more :D

    Would I creasing the dead zone on the left stick theoretically make it so you have to move the stick more to go into a jog/run? I like to walk around and as it stands you can only walk on controller by moving the stick the slightest bit before your character to auto runs and I hate it when I’m trying to take in the scenery.

      Yes, if you increase the DeadzoneMax you have to move the stick more to go into a jog/run, in my case 1.05 is perfect.

    Can I do the same with right stick? Got a dusty Dualsense that I can probably use if I could fix the deadzone

      Yes just edit fRThumbDeadzone for example setting it to 0.3 increases the dead zone.

    This is exactly what I've been waiting for.

    If I wanted to add more deadzone to the left stick in order to be able to walk without it going into a run do I increase:

    fLThumbDeadzone=0.3
    fLThumbDeadzjavascript-event-stripped0.94

    Them two to say..

    fLThumbDeadzone=0.8
    fLThumbDeadzjavascript-event-stripped0.98 ??

      Glad you find this helpful, when I set fLThumbDeadzone=0.4 I could only walk and run slowly, so try out the various settings and find the best for you.
