    From this point forward, this mod will be in FULL ESM format, unless otherwise stated.

    If you already have run the rosie-fix batch file from previous versions, you do NOT need to revert Rosie back with the rosie-vanilla file.

    The rosie-vanilla batch file from the previous versions actually removes 3 factions from Rosie's refID data...the ones that give her the heal/vendor dialog. So...if you reverted her back with it, it removed the faction references from her refID data which is stored in your save game...and her dialog options disappeared.

    The modifications are still there in the .esm...but the .esm doesn't re-write changes to the save game data attached to her refID...it loads the baseID data on boot...and the refID save game data takes priority.  It turns out that the game save also stores the faction data to the refID upon creation which means those who already have Rosie in their games will also run into this dialog issue.

    I've added the steps to fix this on the main mod page.  If you are having issues with her "I need help, doc" dialog option, follow those simple steps to restore/enable them.

    Hope this explanation helps.

    My apologies for the potential confusion.  Moving from a batch file system to a better .esm system is a transition that has some growing pains at first. Any new games created will show Rosie is ready to go out of the box.

    It seems that NexusMods has removed a discussion between myself and an individual. I'm sure some people have come looking for answers, but it seems I am not allowed to provide it here which is fine. Their site...their rules, right?

    Here's what I can offer you without offending NexusMods:
    1. General information about batch files: This mod, like all others in September 2023, was a batch file. We didn't have access to any other tools or means at the time of Starfield's release...so everything was in bat form, for the most part.
    2. Anyone can read a batch file with nothing more than a text editor...once they've downloaded it, that is.
    3. General information regarding faction IDs: They only consist of numbers and letters. One cannot decipher what or who the code references just by looking at it. One would have to look it up using a reference site like StarfieldWiki . In this example you can clearly see that the SQ_DoctorsGenericDialogueFaction is referenced right at the top.  I was more concerned with functionality first...then pretty it up with "flavor" text afterward. That's just my philosophy.  The fact is that even my initial release gave Rosie BOTH abilities...healing AND vendor options which is what makes her an actual doctor.  Make no mistake about it, my initial release wasn't MISSING a faction that broke Rosie's function as a proper doctor. She did both functions just fine. The faction in question only made her reply under certain circumstances...rather than just look at you blankly.

    4. Posts on this forum go back to the very beginning when I first published the initial batch version of this mod.There is a single interaction there that clearly shows how this situation evolved. I don't need to say anymore at all about that part of it. BTW..if that post magically comes up as deleted...screenshots are a wonderful thing.

    5. As a general rule of etiquette in the modding community: If a dev uses any of work from other devs, they ask them first...ALL of them...not just one.  Especially if the work used is VITAL to the functioning of their mod.
    6.  General rule of life: A jewel thief always wants to "leave things there"...as long as they got away with the jewels.
    7.  General CK info: It's no sweat to just copy an entry (faction in this case) and create a new one. Expecting to solve the issue by just copying an entry to a differently named one wouldn't actually resolve the issue at hand.  Maybe slower people might have accepted that as a solution.
    8.  I didn't invent modifying factions...never claimed to.  But's it's not about the hammer you have...it's about whether or not your can build something that will work using that hammer.

    I won't say more here because I'm sure NexusMods doesn't want any more of the drama...but I hope this general info leads you to the answers you might have come here looking for.  After all, you don't need to be Einstein to work out the timeline and details...especially when that person incriminates themself so obviously.  I'm done with this drama. Everyone has access to the truth...they can decide for themselves.  I won't discuss this any more here.

    Please allow these facts to stand on their own. I haven't stated anything false nor rude...merely stated general info and facts that is easy to fact-check.

    I added a quick update to fix Rosie's constant comments about Cydonia. Thanks to mlmlars for bringing that to my attention. I don't use the community patch as he mentioned, but it wasn't hard (I hope) to figure it out. BGS left out conditional statements in Rosie's dialogue entries for when she visits different cities. That was pretty easy to see in the CK, so I just added them. After testing for a few hours, she seems to be on the ball now. Let me know if the issue is still there and I'll dig further.

    I reworked from the ground up with the Creation Kit....good way to get my feet wet with this new Starfield version. I'm glad to say that I have it working as it did before...with some nice additions. Rosie now comes (with a fresh spawn/new game) with a combat medic jumpsuit and a proper lab coat. You get both so pick and choose what you want her to wear. Along with the jumpsuit, I also created her own weapon...a MagSniper rifle. She'll be pretty mean in a fight now. I've also started work on her "Combat Medic" trait. As of now, it grants Wellness3 but I'm working on her ability to heal in battle. That's something I always wanted from her and I'm not stopping until I get it figured out...but I'm chipping away at it. She still has Leadership 2 which make her not count toward your total crew, just like Sarah. I've only slightly modified her appearance...removing the bags under her eyes and lessening the intensity of her freckles a bit. That's all...her skin does seem a little lighter in tint color to me...but I can't be sure if it's just the lighting or what.

    The CK update seems to have broken this mod...but no worries, all. I kinda thought this might happen which is why you already got the solution when you installed it awhile back. I had already created a bat file and included it in the mod, just in case..just select Dr. Rosie in your console then run this command: "bat rosie-fix" without quotes and it'll give her back her doctor dialogue. No need to freak...it's all good.

    After a group effort of fighting a dialog issue, we learned several things.  The save game data takes priority over .esm data...and specifically, changes to Rosie's faction settings and appearance.  We also learned that when NPCs are first spawned into the game, their faction lists are also immediately referenced to their refID data in the save file.  I've updated the mod files and included a fix for these situations...simple instructions have been updated on the main mod page to address these issues.  That was...an experience.  When did BGS say they were going to release CK2 again?...

    By request..I've published an .esm version that adds only the healing/vendor dialog with no other modifications to Rosie.
    It's the "Basic" version in the files section for those that prefer that option.

    Ok...my dream of getting Rosie to be a proper combat medic is proving to be VERY problematic...since that isn't an NPC game mechanic that exists in the game inherently.  I'm not giving up though...but I thought that giving you the .esm version so you don't have to run a bat command would be beneficial for you as it sits now.  Update is now published and available.  Enjoy!

    installed using vortex and ran the "bat rosie-fix" command in console and she does not have any additional dialogue options

    what exactly does "target Rosie (make sure she's selected before proceeding to step 2)" mean?

    I tried looking at her so that my cursor would show her name before opening console and running the fix
    also tried initiating dialogue with her and then opening console and running the fix
    but sadly nothing works so not sure if I am doing something wrong or it's broken in 1.14.74

      what exactly does "target Rosie (make sure she's selected before proceeding to step 2)" mean?

      Hover the mouse over the thing you want to interact with and click on it, if you click on Rosie it will make sure she is selected for the command.

    edit: the console commands do work so if you can't get this to work reliably then use those

    Thank you for the mod! Finally I can have a doc on my ship :-)

    I was also wondering if there would be a way to voice those Doc lines. I'm not sure if Rosie has these lines voiced but e.g. Alexei (00012487) has them. Now I don't know if it would be possible to e.g. to add Alexei's lines into Rosie. We can always change her Sex with SexChange then :-)

    On the other hand, probably this will lead to the other non voice lines  because then we wouldn't have any of the crew faction lines voiced as Alexei is not scripted as a crew member.

    Just a though, I can live with the text lines and I'm happy to have her onboard now because "Cost of Spacing" is already killing me with their landing fees :-)

    I've used this mod in my last 2 load orders and all was fine. But in this load order Rosie does not have the Combat-Medic outfit or the Lab coat in her inventory. She also does not have any weapons and she does not have any of the new dialogue (only her vanilla dialogue). I'm using version 2.3a

    Any suggestions? I really like this mod, I like Rosie, love her voice, her background story, the whole 9 yards.

      Ok, I ran the bat file and that fixed her dialogue. I already had a Physician Uniform for her. 

      What was the name of the outfit you gave her for combat medic? ("Combat Medic" doesn't exist and i liked that outfit)

    I used Vortex to install the esm file, went to Akila to recruit Rosie, and I still don't have the healing dialogue options. what's going on?

    EDIT: The console commands mentioned in the description fixed it. thanks

    I can't seem to get the Leadership skill to work correctly. I can't assign Rosie to my ship, I just get the notification that my crew is maxed out. However, I can assign Sarah for example, who also have Leadership 2. My ship has a max crew size of 6 and I have no points in Ship Command, 3 current active crew and 1 follower. Any ideas?

      Apologies...I thought I had uploaded the fix for this last month. I guess I zipped up the wrong .esm.  I've uploaded the correct one just now...I think.  Pretty sure this is the .esm I play with in my own game.  Should be fine.

    Is there a way to give Rosie some voice lines for the "I need healing" dialogue options? I'm not talking using AI or having to find & pay a voice actor if you don't wanna, but like maybe just reuse some generic npc voice lines that feel kinda "good enough"
