    Hi Keanu, As always, thanks for your mod.

    An item on my wish list for years with ship builder is the ability to hover over my ship, after entering ship builder, and to see the stats on the installed components.

    As of now, every time I go into ship builder mode, as opposed to upgrade, I forget what all of my weapons' stats are, or shield, or cargo, so I have to leave builder mode, hover over the component in question, memorize the stats, go back into builder mode, and look for something better. An alternative would be for a column that tells me, for whatever section I'm in, what the part is, and its stats.

    I already use starui ship builder, but it doesn't have the feature.

    Thanks.

    are there any mods out there currently that lets you specify where the connection points are when building a ship. It's so frustrating trying to put a ship together and thinking you have the perfect build, only to go inside and find out that you have no flow and can't reach the cockpit.

    If not, can someone pretty please, create a mod to do this...I will happily pay for a mod like this.

    Thanks.

      Exactly!!!

      Why couldn't they make the ship builder similar to the outpost builder. The outpost builder allows you to change the walls and doorways. You can cut off a doorway if there are too many in a room or use the function if you want to direct the flow in a certain direction.

      Not that I'm aware of, however there is a workaround, use https://www.nexusmods.com/starfield/mods/388 and use the huge tolerance option and then you can place portholes where you don't want doors or ladders to be, and then snap your habs together, they can only place doors or ladders where portholes aren't.

      I'd say so. Oh but I meant what you said; not what OP said, ftr.

    So, I probably chose the wrong settings in the mod's configuration interface and now my ship builder cursor moves extremely slowly. I can't speed it up without running one of the batch files within the game. And both bat BuilderTweak and bat BuilderReset do the same thing.

    How do I either reset the actual game file to vanilla without using your batch files, or re-open the mod's configuration utility to choose new settings? If I simply uninstall the mod, the changes to very slow speed remain persistent, but if the mod is installed, running the batch files only lasts for the duration of the gaming session. Re-installing the mod does not bring up the configuration utility again.

    Not sure if this has been brought up before, but is there anyway to make some type of ship blueprint or some a ship build saver to where you can close out the ship builder without losing the progress you have made

    Running into serious issues trying to line things up to snap together particularly using the 'R' and 'F' keys. It is as if thr distance the part you have selected moves about twice as far as needed per tap of either the R or F keys meaning it is damned near impossible to vertically line things up to snap together vertically. I've tried changing fShipBuilderEquipmentSnapDistance:Spaceship to a higher number - I think you have it at 1.5 but I don't think that is helping at all so which command would I change to make the R and F verticle adjustment about half the size it is by default

      Hopefully you figured it out already but if not you need to make the numbers smaller not larger. I'm assuming defaults are 1.

      SetINISetting "fShipBuilderEquipmentSnapDistance:Spaceship" "1.5"
      SetINISetting "fShipBuilderSnapDistance:Spaceship" "1.75"

    I see people posting all these INI lines, yet I see no explanation on what to do with them. Are we supposed to just copy and past that into StarfieldCustoms.ini? And if so, does this eliminate the need to put the TXTs in the root folder?

    I also noticed, the mod download is just txt files. Shouldn't they be labeled as a batch file?

      Copy and paste that those [Archive] lines into StarfieldCustoms.ini, then dump the txts into root folder

      EDIT: I don't know why, but it won't let me type out the code properly below. It keeps putting the "sStartingCjavascript-event-stripped" crap instead. I'm not sure how to stop it from doing that--so just know anywhere it says that, it's supposed to say "sStarting Console Command=" without the spaces or quotation marks there. Hope this helps.

      Alright, I'll do the best I can to help you with this since it was a problem for me too at first. So I've gotten all the console enabled text file based mods I've downloaded to work; and with some fiddling with them, this is what I've discovered.

      You download the StarfieldCustom.ini file found here on Nexus. It can be found Here. Once you've downloaded it, go to "C:\Documents\My Games\Starfield" and place the StarfieldCustom.ini file there in the Starfield folder. You'll know it's the right folder if you see it has "StarfieldPrefs.ini" and you "Saves" folder.

      Once it's there, download whatever mods you want that use the command console (like this one for example). Move all the .txt files from any of the mods you've downloaded into your Starfield game folder. It's the folder that has the launcher ("Starfield.exe") in it. Once your done with this, go back to where you placed the StarfieldCustom.ini file (back in "C:\Documents\My Games\Starfield"). Open StarfieldCustom.ini in whatever editor you prefer (I strongly recommend Notepad++ if you don't already have it). Once it's open find the spot that has "[General]" titled for it. Beneath "[General]" type out (or copy and paste) the following:

      sStartingConsoleCommand=

      Now, immediately after the equals sign type bat, put a space, and type the name of the text file for your console mod (excluding the .txt bit at the end). For this mod in particular it would be "builderTweak" (to add in the tweaks) or "builderReset" to remove them (if you don't like them or they break the game or something). Think of the "builderReset" one being a backup of sorts that will revert your settings back to normal for the ship builder. Lastly, place a semicolon at the end to tell the program that part of the command is done.

      When you're all said and done, your text line will look exactly like this:

      sStartingConsoleCommand=bat builderTweak;

      If you were to install additional commands, you just put a space after the semicolon and continue with the "bat <FILENAMEHERE>;" process for each additional console command style mod you have. For example; this is what mine looks like:

      sStartingConsoleCommand=bat AlwaysDropArmor; bat StealthOverhaul; bat ImprovedCombatAI; bat LockpickCheat; bat toleranceBig; bat MOS50; bat customship; bat MrGebaContrabandScan;

      I can confirm all my command console style mods are currently working at the time of posting this. They've been working in tandem with my Starfield Script Extender mods too--so SFSE (Starfield Script Extender) shouldn't get in the way of these working.

      SOMETHING TO NOTE: I did notice when I didn't put a space after the semicolon, the game had trouble reading the commands properly. I have no idea why, but when I had them entered like this...

      sStartingConsoleCommand=bat AlwaysDropArmor;bat StealthOverhaul;bat ImprovedCombatAI;bat LockpickCheat;bat toleranceBig;bat MOS50;bat customship;bat MrGebaContrabandScan;

      ...They didn't load properly. So make sure there's a space after the semicolon with each one. Once you're done with all that; save and close StarfieldCustom.ini then right click on it and select "copy." Go to your game folder (where Starfield.exe is located) and right click somewhere in the folder and select "paste." NOT "Paste shortcut." But "paste." Anytime you change StarfieldCustom.ini in the Starfield folder (the one under "C:\Documents\My Games\Starfield") copy and paste the new version to override the old one in the game folder. ((This step is not required for everyone, but it has been reported to fix issues with some people's games--that's why I'm including it here)).

      And bam. You should be done, and it should be reading your mods properly.

      " sStarting Console Command=bat AlwaysDropArmor;bat StealthOverhaul;bat ImprovedCombatAI;bat LockpickCheat;bat toleranceBig;bat MOS50;bat customship;bat MrGebaContrabandScan; "
      sStarting Console Command=
      First one encapsulate your command with quote ans tell other to remove them.
      Second just Bold the Equal and it works.

      by any chance do you get infinite scrolling while scrolling down parts list in shipbuilder menu? basically if i wanted to get a part at the bottom of the list, itd take forever. This happened after i used these tweaks. Once i reset them to vanilla, im able to scroll normally. anyway to fix this? i believe it could be one of the settings, maybe gamepad related idk, ill try and fix this and see whats happening.
