Update: thanks to feedback, I've added support to modify players bag as well as making storage objects/ships and players bag infinite

all modifications are permanent so you only need to run bad/commands once per storage.

    Thank you

It can't be, I ruined it, I made a mistake in command when I wanted to put a container at 2000 and I put biggerbag and when I saw that it didn't work I put it again and when I realized my character could carry more than 4000, help, I don't want I want to put the original weight, how do I do it? I know somewhere I saw how it could be done but I can't find it.

Yes but that command is not a permanent change, you can also read description here is not hard, this is a simple command BAT file.

Hello, I have uploaded some pictures that might help a bit. What should be seen during the operation. On a Hungarian keyboard, the letter ö is the console.

You are a gentleman and a scholar. Thank you. It's total stupidity that those giant storage containers only hold 75kg. 2 metric tons makes a lot more sense for a container the size of 9 men.

    Hmmm... Interesting.
player.ForceAV carryweight 0makes my Backpack to have 10 pts of weight.
    So, it looks like:
    5625/10Holy cow! This can kill!

not sure how that happened, in my cased worked, try doing what 4ndr34 suggested.

first player.setav carryweight 999999999, then close console then open again and do
      player.setav carryweight 0

than should work, ive also tested that and work.

ill look more into it and update page here

UPDATE:, I ran few test and manage to get to work twice then other times did not. I need to do more test for now I'm going to remove the file for infinite bag space as i, not getting consistent results

I have never modified player carryweight. I was talking about storage containers, that is chests, crates and other containers with carryweight computed by just a single value, not player carryweight that is heavily modified by a lot of other things: like player skills, armor pieces, their rarity and their rarity features and finally their mods... ...so player carryweight depends even by how the player is currently dressed...

So, the trick with infinite Carry Weight for player is impossible. OK. I get it.
Well, that's too bad. But maybe Dodzh will find out something. That would be great

This is a way to make infinite container capacity:

    • stand next to a crate/chest you want to increase the storage capacity to
    • open your console command prompt
    • using your cursor click on the chest/crate you want to modify (use your mouse wheel to be sure you select the right object) should start with something like "Cont_"
    • once the object is selected type setav carryweight 999999999 and click enter

    • close your console and check the container capacity, it should tell you a very big number, but still not -/-, that is infinite
    • open, again, your console
    • using your cursor click on the chest/crate you want to modify (use your mouse wheel to be sure you select the right object) should start
      with something like "Cont_"
    • once the object is selected type setav carryweight 0 and click enter
    • close your console and check, again, the container capacity and it should now tell you -/-, that is infinite capacity (IDK why you have to change twice the capacity of the container but I have already tried to type setav carryweight 0, without setting it before to 999999999 and it didn't work, but if you set the carryweight to 999999999 then to 0 you get infinite capacity).

ModAV and setav are two different commands, instructions I posted on the main page are basically this, but simpler

      • modav adds to the specified variable, the first parameter, the specified value, the second parameter
      • setav assigns to the specified variable, the first parameter, the specified value, the second parameter

could have change in the recent years but if I remember correctly from back in Skyrim setav does not always save permanent as in modav does

Note: starfield could have change that and works different now.

A even similar solution to that is ForceAV carryweight 0. Force is the same as Set but makes it permanent. Just tested it and the container is infinite even after save reload.

I'm sure that also works but in my case I didn't want to have an infinite, I just wanted to have a bit more space, those screen shots I made were just for this site, on my actual save are different. there are always many solutions for one problem this was mine, thanks for the suggestion.

lots of ppl don't really care or understand commands as simple as they might seem, I was simply trying to share a shortcut for them. figured some might find it useful and also provided the actual command used.
      thanks for your observation tho.

About storage containers, when you save the game, the containers, the chests/crates, in a safe storage cell, that is a cell that doesn't reset/respawn its content, storage containers included, are saved with their current actor values, that is what you have modified using setav too. So both setav and modav persists after a save, until that modified instance of that storage container is available/exists in the game world and it is safe storage.

Naturally the player and the ship actors aren't exactly the same as a storage container in a safe storage cell and IDK if they follow the same rules as storage containers, maybe some values for these actors don't persists after a save/aren't saved using setav. (Fandom wiki https://elderscrolls.fandom.com/wiki/Console_Commands_(Skyrim)#Targeted_commands isn't helping (quoting setav explanation):
Like forceav, but some values do not stay set through saves.

Can you make a version that uses Console Command Runner to just run automatically when the player places a storage crate?

as far as I know CCR only runs at the start, that wont work for this as you will need a object id in order to change it.

note: the command used here makes the changes to the storage object(chest/ship) permanent, so you will only have to run it once

you don't actually need the .bat file.
After selecting container when in console, just type [ setav carryweight 5000 ] ..or any number you like.

You can do this to ship's cargo hold as well. Fly to space, and in photo mode open console, click ship... etc..

Just be aware that when modifying ship in ship builder, any changes to ship might delete all the items in that edited cargo hold - so just in case take the whole content of the cargo hold to your back pocket before you do changes to your ship with "modded" cargo hold

I have an achievement enabler mod that works for other mods but the console command the game still shows it as a modded file, anyone know what i could be doing wrong?

I cant really tell what possible problem you might have, if you have installed mods that use esp or a similar thing I believe that game will till show you as modded but achievements will still work if your enabler is correctly installed.
what I did  is not really a mod, is basically a bat file or simple command, but using commands on without an achievement enabler will disable them.
      the one I is:
      https://www.nexusmods.com/starfield/mods/252
I cant really give you support on it all I can tell you is READ very carful all installation instruction for it and fallow them to the letter. for me is working perfect, I don't however have any esp/esm mods installed.
