This mod is a mess. Why does your Mantis replacer file package include a texture replacement for the Mark 1 suit body? This is causing issues with my other Mark 1 mod! Please fix this.
Somewhat rude. Yes this mod has some issues. It was made at a time prior to NifSkope support. It replaces the Mantis suit with the.Mark 1 and relies on the texture files it uses. I do have a couple of updated versions I played around with, as well as other Starfield projects mid completion. However, I haven't really fiddled with Starfield modding much in the last month since the game got a little dull for me.
@JohnnoirAtlas619 I'm sure I will get around to it. That was the version I replaced in the version I have the most complete that I do intend to revisit soonish.
Hey is it possible to make a Mark 1 replacement for this? I would love to have that but after trying for a couple of hours now I cant seem to figure out how to make it work.
Solution 1: Find where the mark 1 is saved in the games file hierarchy 2: Create a new hierarchy that matches it but is located in the data folder 3: Make sure the files have the same names as the original 4: Profit
The game will prioritize loading the assets from the folders over the assets in the compressed hierarchy.
Sometimes it can glitch out a bit. I've found unequipping and reequiping tends to fix cloth physics. Should have an updated version to this mod soon. I've been really trying to find the best assets to use to solve clipping. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to rescale things or transform them without breaking the mesh so I'm trying to release something that fits the game better, feels functional, and clips less.
I figured out what was causing it. It happens when I have the both the settler's poncho outfit and the mantis suit equipped. Don't know if that helps at all. Love your mod thanks for the quick response.
Love this armor set, Would be interested to see if its possible to switch the meshes for the striker maskwear helmet hood with the helmet from this mod
So, after some experimenting, it seems when trying to swap those meshes I only get the front mask from the Striker Maskwear. Is the hood actually a separate mesh or am I doing something wrong?
There's a conversation I had with someone else further down regarding this exact issue. The striker helmet doesn't carry the hood. I believe it's actually part of the lowerbody mesh if I remember correctly.
I've been working on a version in NifSkope, but I'm having issues. I'm not sure whether it's solely my own incompetence or if NifSkope doesn't allow it yet.
Oh wow, that looks awesome dude! Interesting that it's attached to the lower body, but that makes sense, because I was messing around with upperbody and sleeves last night too no avail. I'm pretty amateur to modding and nifskope in general, but would a potential workaround be, make the base outfit the striker maskwear, and turn the poncho into the boost-pack replacer? You'd kinda lose the outlaw feel, unless you used the Practical Striker Retex
Could potentially work if the issue is altering the lowerbody mesh!
Oh s#*! I didn't even see that reply as I was typing that up! Excited to see the progress dude! Great Mod honestly! Even when the CK comes out, Imma keep this on my modlist because I feel like this fills a niche this game is greatly lacking!
Working on a replacer that actually layers onto the nif as opposed to transmogging it like before. Still a work in progress, but I'll save a version pre poncho for those that want it.
Obviously helmet and such as that haven't been fiddled with yet.
Question: Does this mod also replace the helmet, as well? As much as I dislike the Mantis' suit and pack, I do like the look of the helmet, more so after having installed the Cat Helmet by SIQ mod and having found it rather cute and meme-able.
For those of wanting the suit, but not the helmet: I can confirm that deleting the f_helmet.nif, f_helmet_go.nif, m_helmet.nif, and m_helmet_go.nif files that comes with this mod will change The Mantis' helmet from the Starborn appearance, to its original look.
this looks drippy af is it possible to add different color options and variations like a full black or black and red or even black and gold maybe diffrent helmet options also
Color you can actually tweak on your own since it uses whatever retexture you're using. There's a number of good poncho recolors. sadarum's page links to a few different black retextures, and those will change the color for this replacer too. There aren't a lot of helmets that I like the look of for this suit. Feel free to suggest if you've got ideas for what would go with it. I wanted to do the Striker helmet, but the hood wouldn't work.

it wont bother me man, i really long for just the ranger duster and a helmet, if you could do it that would be sick
