    Note : Extract the file to Document\My Games\Starfield instead of your game root directory. This is the only way to get Starfield to read loose texture maps for now. Make sure you have properly set up StarfieldCustom.ini before installing.

    Furball of Starfield has been updated to v1.5 , now more hairy than ever !
    Complete with hairy back , hairy legs , hairy arms and feet , all down to extreme details !

    Credit : Xanins for sending me an edited version with the hairy back and legs texture. V1.5 is built upon that.

    I would love slightly hairy chest variant to have hairy arms and legs and not on the back. Unfortunately I have noticed that NPCs in Paradiso who's having same skin tone have the hair on them but with missing texture - because it is part of the face mesh and so texture is missing.
    Any chance to fix it and make it for all skin tones?

      WIP , I am creating different " hairstyles " for different skintones and it will eventually cover all skintones in the game.

      Same, would be nice to have a variant with more chest body, leg + arms but without the back hair ^^;

    I have tried everything I can, followed all instructions to the letter, installed through vortex, manually, still can;t get to show this awesome fur perfection of yours.  Any ideas?

      did you put them in the correct folder ? 

      Also make sure you have install the custom INI from the mod requirement.

      I downloaded a retex mod via vortex the other day, and Vortex put the files in the Steam location for starfield, which didn't work.

      I had to manually move the files from the steam/common/starfield folder to the documents/mygames/starfield folder. Then it worked properly.

      You might try that out, not sure why but it seems to be flip flopped for some people which folder their stuff needs to be in. *shrug*

      got it working at last, it is simply awesome, thank you soooo much! Are you using a specific mod for the hair? If not do you remember what number hair style in the slider you are using?

      thank you too . If you look carefully it is actually drawn upon the layers you've sent me , I merely did some " grooming " and that's it.

      You will if you use furball. The title of the mod should include the word hair or body hair I think, pretty sure no one will use furball as a keyword ^^;

      Not yet , there is no reliably way to take off their clothes yet , unless you are using console commands .

      the Head mesh ( which extends into the chest ) and the body are 2 separate 3d mesh models. We are still in the early days of modding and a lot of tools have yet to be updated. Without a way to access to the UV map, I can't do much it is all guess work. 

      Painting across 2 different objects without UV grid, there is going to be very obvious gap / seam between the chest and belly, not something I fancy doing. That is on top of the hair decals I used comes from 8k model stocks, any misplacement is going to be 100 times more noticeable.

      Regardless, this mod will be updated the appropriate tools are available.

      Emmm… With due respect, the author of this mod (https://www.nexusmods.com/starfield/mods/574) had no problems of the kind to draw normal shape of the chest hair (and also arms and legs). Too hairy to my taste though, I would want nothing else if it was something in between your decently hairy chest and his shape and making arms and legs hairy too.

      Anyways, great job, I will track your mod and if there will be updates, maybe will try it.

      That is true, but I have to pick my words very carefully here.


      First of all, the mod Author you are talking about have also been in this mod discussion. I assure you there isn't some kind of " rivalry " between us. With respect, I am sure he/she/they've invested a lot of time and effort into making their mod as well.


      But here is the difference. Mine is focused on the chest hair, I went as far as to remap the entire body texture map (and roughness) in 4k, which include new navel and nipples

      In comparison, you may find the chesthairs from my mod are presented with more details, to the point where each strand of the chest hair and hairflow is visible. (Because It is drawn using the reference of 8k malemodel stocks).  For this reason alone, connecting it between 2 surface without nifskope and the updated tool is something like a massive guess work. Not saying it is impossible of course, but we are still merely several days into the launch week.

      I also want to make sure it looks natural, instead of leaving big black splotches around the pectoral. I've redrawn and replace each strand of the hair manually, which is why it appears a little messy, uneven, more resembling chest hairs IRL imo.


      Obviously I am aware that someone else is also making it but I genuinely don't mind people are comparing or prefer theirs.

      We modders are not here to compete for credit, we are here to provide options. I want to thread on this carefully because I don't want ppl to think I am discrediting other modders, its nothing like that.


      P/S : I have updated the furball edition to a new fuller look. Let me know if you have any feedbacks.

      Hey, I never implied that their version is better or that there is a rivalry here, sorry of I made myself sound like that. I honestly appreciate your work, truly!

      As I have stated — I would prefer your mod to theirs (due to the reasons you have detailed, thank you for the elaboration and clarification btw), if not one tiny detail: yes, your newer furball edition is extremely hot and realistic, your original (less hairy) version is what I wanted for my character in the game, but — I have never come across a man with chest / belly hair and no hair on legs and arms; the opposite — arms/legs hair with shaven/hairless chest — yes, plenty, but never ever have I met a man with baby-like smooth legs and arms, and at the same time furry / fuzzy chest.

      So as I said, I love your work, I endorsed it, but I won’t use your mod but will track it instead. If you ever decide to put some hair on the MC’s legs and arms, and make this available for all skin colours (4 is too dar for me) - I will be your Adoring Fan forever ;)))

      I think NPC face textures need to wait for CK to be released before facial textures can be re-exported (Ctrl+F4).
      Like face tattoos in Skyrim.

      Or wait for the starfield version of LooksMenu to use Overlays to cover body hair.

    <3 any chance of getting lower res versions for people on low end systems? 1440/1080, these are beautiful!

      This is just texture map (skintone 4) being upscaled to 4k, you can use it regardless of the game resolution you are running. 
      Performance impact should be minimal as well.
