Version 1.5.0 Update!
Separated the Outline Colors, Fill Colors, and Outline Thickness so you can Mix and Match Now!
Add Pastel color scheme (finally).
Rebuilt Vortex installer.
Vortex now handles installing the BAT version.
Vortex allows you to Pick and Choose CCR options to Mix and Match.
Separation should allow easier color scheme additions.
Now that I've done the new separation of each segment, I'm working on several color palettes since it should be a snap to add them in. Also, I'm probably going to be dropping the INI versions since everything seems to be going the way of SFSE and CCR or just BAT files.
Ps. Apologies for everything taking so long. As stated before, since my stroke I move a lot slower and I still vastly under estimate the amount of time it will take me to finish something.
Using your settings from the bat files with DW420 - Scanner Filters (https://www.nexusmods.com/starfield/mods/7189) and zeroing out all the "tracked" values is giving me the best of both worlds. Those unmissable items that I want, with no highlight at all on junk. Thank you for this.
Amazing mod! Now I have a better time telling things apart from a distance.
If you can and have the inclination to do so, could you please upload a version that's compatible with Mod Organizer 2?
What I had to do to get it to work with MO2 was take out all the files inside of the Data folder that's included in the FOMOD version and delete that folder (making the SFSE folder the top-level one instead of Data) so that MO2 could recognize it.
Although this is a simple workaround a dedicated MO2 version or an update to the FOMOD that allows users to pick between Vortex and MO2 would do wonders for people looking for an easy install.
This is not great for red/green blindness. I actually need longer surveying with this than I did before.
E.g. in this screenshot there is something a little bit to the right (and above) the "939M". Finding it is "Where is Waldo" for me. In fact when selecting this mod I didn't even see it at all. Just now having used the mod I was looking through the screenshots to find an example and noticed it (consciously scanning the entire picture for something that I expected to be there).
The way that mod works is that it has you track a made-up research item. Just un-track it and the junk will go back to normal (yellow with this mod).
If you want to NOT highlight junk at all, you can try setting the following in this mod: aHighlightScannableFillColor_Tracked=0,0,0,0 fHighlightScannableOutlineThickness_Tracked=0.0 aHighlightScannableOutlineColorHigh_Tracked=0,0,0,255 aHighlightScannableOutlineColorLow_Tracked=0,0,0,255
Personally, I just added the lines to my StarfieldCustom.INI file, since that uses RGBA format which I can actually read.
Those values should effectively make it so "tracked" items aren't highlighted at all. The side effect, of course, is that you won't be able to track anything since those lines just set the highlight thickness to 0. I don't use tracking in this game, but it might also have a secondary side-effect of NOT highlighting containers with tracked junk in them.
See the screenshot below, I've tracked the succulent using Clutter Begone
This may be a big ask, but is there a way for you to comment in some descriptions of what the settings change? I've done so with a lot of trial and error, but as I'm using the StarfieldCustom.ini edits it's quite tedious with it requiring a game restart to see changes. I believe others may benefit from this change.
Its greate, but are the colors adjustable in an ini or something like that?
Mor pressing and the reason for my post.
Does the SHip, companions have to be also red/white outlined, filled? is it possible to change that atm or is the modding toolkit needed (when released)?
As others have said, Vortex integration would be amazing.
As far as alternate color schemes...being colorblind the red doesn't stand out as much as it does for those without color deficiencies. Also the green and the yellow are basically the same color. For my eyes I would request a bright orange in place of the red, and a darker green , or some othe color entirely.
