CHANGELOG ----- [v.1.0] Initial release. [v.1.0.1] Fixed folder structure to be compatible with mod manager download. [v.1.0.2] Added compatibility fix for Andraste's Hair Edits (LongBob) in miscellaneous files. Made copies of the "choppy_hair_shared_..._color" files and renamed them to "evenbuzz_hair_shared_..._color", replacing the originals. This can be done for the vanilla multicolour hairs as well (e.g. flame, aquapurple, etc.) if you want to fix those.
TO-DO LIST ----- Currently working to see if I can make a non-replacer version of this mod using xEdit. If so, I will also try to release these extra ombre colours:
teal-blue
magenta-purple
darker brown with blonde highlights
copper red-brown
rose-gold
blonde-purple
blonde-red
blonde-blue
black-teal-green
white-black
muted or pastel colour versions of everything
vanilla colours re-done in my ombre/highlight style
Sorry I didn't see this til now!! Is this still causing issues for you? The only issue I could think of would be related to the StarfieldCustom.ini Are you seeing other texture mods but not mine?
It ok, i was gone a bit as well, and no, i tried another one for Andreja and its not working either. i saw you mentioned to someone else about an ini file that could be downloaded? is that on this site? because if i recall correctly i just copy/pasted what you had on the instruction page.
Yes it is available on Nexus: https://www.nexusmods.com/starfield/mods/273 (same link I gave to the other user, download the main file). I only learned this recently, but apparently copy-pasting the code from descriptions doesn't always work because Nexus adds some hidden characters to the code. I'm not sure how or why. But I hope this will solve the issue for you!
i feel like an idiot, i had a typo on the ini files name. it works now, thank you very much for your help, and the mod! it looks much better then the way Bethsesda did the dye colors imo.
I used the vortex mod manager to install it I got the StarfieldCustom.ini set up. I even tried to download the individual hair colors to see if that would work but nothing came of it.
This might be a long shot but if you set up your StarfieldCustom.ini by copy-pasting the lines from Nexus, could you instead try using this pre-made ini?
Hiya, I wanted to give a certain NPc a rework and because of the time that NPC had spent on Mars giving them the red eyes, I thought the black / red hair was perfectly fitting too. Looks great. Thanks and endorsed.
I made my own purple hair recolour and decided to replace the yellow for no actual reason. That's how I learned the hard way that I also can't figure out how to change the scalp colour. Your black/purple is awesome though, so time for my character to visit Enhance!
amzing work, since i also made a hair replacement already i know exactly how much time n effort it takes, to make it look good and my replacement isnt even that advanced
really good work on these, also good choice for the replaced color id's Endorsed!
EDIT: btw. i also wasnt able to find out, where/how the skintone/scalp color is linked to
Thank you! It was a lot of trial and error to get the right shades of colour, but I realized that some of the vanilla colours already had gradients and highlights (namely the flame, teal, and tealblonde colours). So I used those as reference to get the right look in the end.
📁 "Ombre Hair Colours" folder needs to be removed to allow the downloads to be compatible with Vortex. Nothing should come before the Data folder. So when you go to make the files an archive, just right-click the Data folder and start the archive from there. Don't put the Data folder into another folder. :)
Also, if users want to use a mod manager without worry about things not getting installed in the right place, they should use Baka Disable My Games Folder. With how Bethesda changed where mods go with Starfield, I think that mod can be pretty mandatory to relieve some headaches or confusion.
** Note: the Baka Disable My Games Folder mod doesn't fix mods being uploaded with incorrect file structure (like putting folders before the Data folder. That might work with the MO2 mod manager, but not Vortex. So that's something users will need to discuss with the mod authors.)
I hope this info helps someone out there in this great big universe!
