About this mod

An export template for Substance Painter, set correctly for Starfield. Early working version, subject to tweaks.

A very early, work in progress export template to use in Substance Painter for exporting textures for use in Starfield.

Note: You will need to invert the blue channel of your normal map prior to exporting for it to work in-game.

When converting the texutes to DDS, use the following presets:

Normal - BC5S
Color - BC1U is Bethesda's standard - but optionally use BC7U for better quality to compression ratios.
Mask - BC4U
Metal - BC4U
Rough - BC4U
Opacity - BC4U
Ambient Occlusion - BC4U
