The whole MO2/Vortex debate is silly. Many people use Vortex to mod several other games already, so it's only natural that they will use it for Starfield as well. At some point, whatever issues the OP is talking about will be fixed, and it will work just fine. It's almost like MO2 developers saw this as an opportunity to corner some market share for modding programs. It seems like a lot of people are pushing MO2 right now and just dunking on Vortex. Almost like an organized grassroots kind of thing, it's pretty crazy, actually. Maybe they are pushing hard for it in their Discord or something, I don't know. I just do know that in all these recent mods, specifically the CCR ones, are shouting MO2 over Vortex everywhere they possibly can.
Either way, as soon as the Creation Kit comes, Vortex will be a completely suitable and usable program to mod Starfield. At that point, the author of this mod will either update to support it OR they will not and another user will make the same exact mod and the unique downloads will go to that person, instead.
No. Vortex is garbage. Once you understand MO2 you realize just how bad Vortex is. No amount of "fixes" will change it. Why do you think Nexus is working on ANOTHER new mod organizer? There is no debate, MO2 is objectively better if you know what you're doing. For simple games that don't use plugin mods, Vortex is fine.
It's more of a power user versus casual user scenario.
I can load up 200 mods in Skyrim with Vortex and just let them install and it works. If there are conflicts, it tells me and lets me easily fix them. I've never had a problem with modding Skyrim, Spider-Man (before the paywalled support for it), and many more with 0 issues. I've never read one of those long-drawn-out "How To" modding guides, just follow basic install instructions which are usually "Install with the mod manager of your choice."
I never had to use wire bash, or xedit or anything like that. The only thing I do is download the mod and install and enable it. I don't need to mess around with files and edit things for like 15 hours before I play the game. It works just fine. It's kind of like driving a manual versus an automatic transmission.
That being said, my point still stands. You can sit behind your computer screen and pout, but of two mods which both do the same thing, the one that supports Vortex and MO2 is going to be the more popular and more downloaded option. You can hate on it all you want, but if you're doing this to support your self by getting payouts from NexusMods for your unique download count, you are absolutely f*#@ing up by refusing to support it. Point-blank period. That isn't even subjective, it is objectively true. Find me one single Fallout or Skyrim mod that is the highest downloaded / most popular mod of its kind, that will only support MO2. I'll wait.
i used Vortex since it came out for all my games. 519 mods in Skyrim for example. started using MO2 for Starfield and it's better but Vortex definitely has its place.
"It's almost like MO2 developers saw this as an opportunity to corner some market share for modding programs" So what you're saying is they are quicker to update MO2 when your playing the latest release? Quite frankly that sound like the best reason to use Mo2 over Vortex.
hard disagree i use both mo2 is the least usser friendly that im forced to use to run ttw properly cant make files light so mod limit is fucked it deletes priority order at random and makes a normal half day of mod setup double the time consuming
@xjasko "Why do you think Nexus is working on ANOTHER new mod organizer? " Really? The new mod organizer is going to basically be Vortex 2 but named "The Nexus Mods App". It will replace both MO2 and Vortex
Here is the truth about Vortex and Nexus Mods: Vortex "Vortex will continue to be our primary, supported mod manager for the foreseeable future and will be the application that we provide to support modding for upcoming titles such as Starfield."
Vortex 2 "The Nexus Mods App" "In many ways, this is a “Vortex 2” just under a different name. The name change from “Vortex” to “The Nexus Mods App” is a marketing decision more than anything. " https://www.nexusmods.com/starfield/news/14874
i might give it a try later, we need flying, not just jump flight in the air and u fall, be nice to get a real flying jetpack, like the movie The Rocketeer
I agree, more of a flying mod would be great! All these mods that claim to fix the jetpacks more or less do the same thing, more thrust, less fall. But the hope is to actually be able to fly like a missile, not just bob up and down infinitely. I script to activate the zero grav mechanic when using the jetpack would be a nice start, but that's locked to interior cells only at the moment.
Activate 0.1 G gravity when the jetpack is activated and improve forward thrust speed by console commands, we need an actual scripting for this I think. .bat might not work for a reliable mod. I would wait for xEdit to come out.

So you really just need to wait, HaiTan.

It just works, with 16 times the ease.
If you just follow The Best of Times, you wouldn't have any issues, or maybe you did but are illiterate.
