Does this still work with the latest update? I tried the method, there was a notification that came up saying I could now build an outpost here, but when I open my scanner, the option to place an outpost beacon was still blacked out.
completely broken, and buildbits doesn't seem like a replacement at all. would rather just a fresh new mod JUST allowing outposts anywhere. now, if we could just fix all the build errors (buildings underground and cant raise them, or they are floating, or cant be placed because the game thinks theres something in the way even with the overlap mod)
I might work on a new mod for this, haven't been active for half a year on here (on any of the mods) and assumed things had been making these mods obsolete by now with others having better mods doing the same thing. But with creation kit I might be able to make a mod that works better these days if it's still relevant enough to spend the time and effort on it.
Also, oatmeal is very underrated and underestimated these days.
This mod hasn't been updated for a long time, and the author has already released a new mod with similar functionality, and it seems that the author's passion is focused on that. So, even if I just want to create an outpost in a POI, would it be better to use BuildBits instead of this mod?

I'd say for now, try the BuildBits version. It doesn't install anything to use it and doesn't take up much space. So it's fine to use even just for the outpost beacon overlay. Worst case scenario it doesn't do what you need it to and you can just delete the file.
Not sure if this just me, my mod list or potentially a bug. Finally happy to be able to build an outpost outside of the dream home but I cannot place any mannequins. I get the "Cannot place item: intersects with an existing object" message. this is everywhere. Every other outpost object is fine. I've tried on differant planets. If i create a normal outpost, mannequins can be placed, but as soon as I run the bat commands I can no longer place them. Is there any way around this?
not using this mod but i get that error CONSTANTLY, or object floating. its incredibly frustrating. i wish we had more freedom to place and manipulate objects. let us raise and lower anything so that the lumpy ground wont stop us from making awesome bases
Not sure this is exactly what you are looking for, but try a mod called Builder by Nahruuk. It effectively removes most collision with items in your outposts and ship. It has a few problems, like things sinking into the floor when you want to put it down in your ship, but for outposts it's pretty neat. I don't really use nexus besides looking things up here but I know it's on creations and it is free.
Anyone have the issue where dream home location adds all the foliage back to the dream home location?

only thing I can think of is I removed the dream home perk and added kid stuff.
in another note thank you to the mod author for allowing me to build research outpost at starborne ruins like Constellation would most likely do :)
Update: the issue clears after game restart will update if it happens more.
DAMN , I didnt know about these extra buidlings , pretty awesome . ive been scating by with console commands Command 1: placethere 00260ED4Command 2: setoutpostoverlay . this is the tits.
has anyone managed to get this to work since the latest patch? It only allows to place power generators and workbenches no matter what. I'm trying this out at Paradisa.
In that case it isn't spawning right. You need to make sure you run both commands right after each other without closing console window. If there is a beacon when you close console, it's not right. It should just let you build a beacon. Sometimes the area resets and you might need to do it again. In my other mod called BuildBits there is a button for this that might work better.
Thanks for the reply. I went with the mod you mentioned and was able to place a normal beacon. Upon exiting the game and loading the save with the beacon the area became restricted again (the beacon and everything I built during the first session are still here). Does this happen with your method if done correctly?
One question, I can't seem to get it to work in certain restricted areas. Ex: Waggoner Farm, on Montara Luna in the Cheyenne System. Any tips? That would be an awesome place to setup outpost.
Hey, thank you so much! There are a few options here, sometimes I have made it work with the regular method but it's a bit picky and tricky. I have included an optional file to this mod that spawn in a beacon. With that it should work. You can download it in the files tab here, and then do the command for that batfile aswell as the regular one.
Also in a newer mod I made, though still under construction, there's a button for both making outpost area and if needed spawning in a beacon aswell. And a bunch of building pieces and prop moving controls if you wanna deep dive into building. I'll link it if that sounds like something you're looking for!
