This normal map has been hand sculpted onto the base vanilla body mesh. It's not perfect but I'm relatively ok with the result. As you probably know, the underwear is part of the base mesh and texture so this will have to do until the full custom bodies are created.
This, however will make it less compatible with underwear mods. This is due these have to fake transparency, since again - it's part of the base body mesh. If the underwear mod does not include a normal map then this mod will work with that. Otherwise, the mod installed last will overwrite the body normals.
About the seams, despite my high poly model not containing any visible seams, it seems (lol) that the baking of the textures is not 100% acurate. I'm not sure if this is caused by the way the game handles seams but I'm looking into that. The neck seems fine but the arms and forearms do have so noticable seams.

Update Alpha 2: I had to remove the vein over one of the biceps because the idle animation / pose screws up the UV. Neck seams are mostly gone, only with outside sunlight on closeups they are visible a bit.
This will probably be the last update since we are all waiting for custom body meshes but don't hesitate to give me feedback.
23 September update - Final-Vanilla Another improved on the seams, arms seems to be seamless though you may still see something due to the separate arm meshes rotating in their socket. Anyway, looks pretty good imo. This will be the final version until true custom body meshes arrive.
Kudos for the work! Great looking body, can't wait for the naked version after the creation kit tools are released (yes, I know there's a Robert's schlong naked dude version, but the mesh mismatch is . . . difficult to look at).
ok... have they made it harder to get mods to work correctly in Starfield? I have several including this one I just can't seem to get to work.. I'm perplexed.

Goodmorning and goedendag to you too. Thanks for the comment and kind words. This mod should not conflict with the skintone as it operates on a different part of the shader. Skin color are determined by the _sk diffuse textures where is this works only on the _normal
Ha, glad I could be of service. From the screenshots I have to admit it looks pretty convincing with body hair too. We definitely need more flexibility to create different bodies for NPC, player and followers!
Unfortunately no possibility to differentiate NPC and players at the moment. Will take some time since we need custom races for which we need the Creation Kit...
