    A warm welcome to all!
Please note that, for example, we are reducing the resolution of static shadows from 4096 to 3072, This change may have an imperceptible effect on the performance gain on powerful GPUs, because simply the specific GPU did not have a big problem with these shadows, so we will only reduce VRAM consumption. However, weaker GPUs may gain as much as 15% and thus perform better on other graphical aspects. And it is also important that the ultra settings remain ultra. There is another modification of this type on the forum, in which several ultra settings have worse quality than high settings. And this is not the point of correct modification of game files.
To sum up (simplifying), the better performance of our PC in general, the smaller FPS gain we have from modifications of this type. And on weaker PCs the increment will be noticeably larger. However, in any case, at some point in the game we will certainly gain in performance, and we will not notice any drops in the quality of the rendered image, especially at times where FSR/DLSS/XESS is practically always on and we have TAA enabled by default in them.
And we will always reduce the demand for RAM and VRAM.

    Important!
After installation, make sure to change your graphics settings to a different graphics preset BEFORE changing them to your preffered settings. This will force the game to use the newly modified files for when you select your preferred graphics settings
After install, the mod supports all possible combinations manually selected or predefined by the game.
You can change graphic options any time...

For AMD GPU users try on (first in Bios, chipset AM4 or newer) Smart Acces Memory.  For RX 5xxx series GPUs and newer...
    Tutorial YT
You can gain an extra few dozen percent, depending on the game.... In Starfield for me the gain is minimal, but it is there.

*** INFO about my new 'HQWorld - Starfield' mod for this game! ***is ready!***

    UPDATE 1v6
Update ready for game ver. 1.11.36+ Game Devs change/add some lines in files, if u use old version of my mod u must reinstal now, for update 4 settings files. Have fun all;)

I highly recomended in grapic oprions use CONTACT SHADOWS to LOW setting, because works better with normal shadows. You can test this by moving away from and closer to objects hanging on walls casting shadows on those walls...

My new DISCORD intended for members of this forum using my modifications and more. You are cordially invited!

Note - For those wondering this mod WILL NOT disable achievements in your game.

This mod greatly improved my fps and stability my fps no longer drops so drastically and i have a smooth playable experience on medium with the dlss mod (preset C 0.70 sharpness no reshade) on a 2070 and r5 3600 at 1440p. my fps is a stable 45-50 while in New Atlantis (its only this low in cities and has no problem with crowd density set to high) and runs around 70-85 when in various caves/houses/building/ships and in and out of combat with the lowest ive seen it drop to is 65.

Tried both this and the other optimization mod on nexus and yes I can confirm the other one did make the game look worse. Unsure how it was doing it the other mod made some buildings look like mud when I had changed settings off of the ultra preset after switching. So i went back to the original files and played for a while. Saw this mod and what the modder had posted about the same situation I had encountered so I gave his a try. Hopefully I was supposed to do this I just downloaded the all in one file and tossed all the presets into the folder. However after going in game changing from ultra to low then back to ultra to make the new settings work. I re adjusted the settings to the way i like example turning off dynamic res, changing shadows from high to medium etc. Overall my man from the same setup I had  OG to your optimizations I got roughly 5 to 10 more fps which hey Ill take whatever I can get, and you did it without anything looking different . Bethesda needs to hire you to fix this mess.

    Thank you

Wanted to post for anyone to see, force enabling ReBar gave me about a 10+ fps improvement on my 3070. If you have a CPU/GPU that supports ReBar, I recommend enabling it in your bios and forcing it on with Nvidia Profile Inspector for Starfield (you can find videos if you dont know how), and see if you get an improvment. Obviously, ymmv.

    Thank you dear users!

I wanted to thank everyone for such a positive response to my modification, your comments, words of thanks and financial support (PayPal) is very important to me!
I am glad that the modification helps thousands of players to enjoy the game "Starfield" in better performance! I also thank the Company "BETHESDA" for the release of this great game! Which as it has always been.... Will be patched and better and better!
I have been part of this forum since 2012 (under this nickname since 2015). And I can't imagine using any other site when it comes to publishing my modifications and using other forum users' modifications!
I'm also sorry that not everyone is satisfied with the performance of my modification, but unfortunately the variety of hardware and drivers in our PCs is very different. I also apologize for not always clear my comments or even descriptions of my modification, I'm 49 years old and never learned ENG!, so I'm trying to catch up with that now, but I'm often helped by a translator!
Thanks again for every comment and have fun playing Starfield + Performance BOOST!
    Greetings Marek.G (A100N)

Hey. What does uLODStreamingAdjacencyLoad do? What would be the effect of raising or lowering that value?

Hi. I haven't tested this option, but my conclusion is that it either has a drastic change in the streaming distance of far textures doing the background (LoD) which will drastically degrade the quality, or it affects the performance so much that 2 is the golden mean, because as you can see, in ultra and in low is the same value. It could also be related to the amount of ram and vram required.

Sorry for the stupid question but will this conflict with Bethini in any way when using the high, low, medium and ultra.inis from this mod?

As in the description of the modification, you paste all the aforementioned settings, and in the game menu you use the settings you want. The modification has edited Ultra, High, Medium and Low files so that you can configure the game this way.

I did some experimenting and found that using both the recommended  and Ultra choices in the Beth ini pie tool gave me around a +5fps gain over this mod. I did three trials between the two and found this consistent. Beth ini pie changes three ini files: Ultra.ini, StarfieldCustom.ini, and StarfieldPrefs.ini. I kept the last two ini files the same between testing and only changed out the Ultra.ini file.

It could be my setup (RTX 3070). I found this mod and did a side by side comparison of Bethini's ultra.ini and yours. I changed the different values manually and when I loaded it for the first time things felt "off". So I started experimenting and this is what I found. I am not sure why this happened. Most of the values that differ between the two are only slightly different with Bethini's usually being slightly greater. Bethini did introduce some new settings for grass, geometry, shadow, and view distance not in the vanilla Ultra.ini so it might be those new settings and not the adjusted values.

Anyways, your ini file did give me a fps boost over vanilla, so nothing against your changes at all.  I just discovered something odd and and had go test things out. Just wanted to let you know what I found.

I am concerned about the 3072 shadow texture resolution not being a power of two (pow2).  While it's been a while for direct graphics API usage, I have experience coding such low level systems and from memory I recall that newer hardware typically now supports non-pow2 (!pow2) textures but does it at a sub-optimal speed by comparison to pow2 textures.  I don't doubt that any system that can play Starfield would also support !pow2 textures I just wonder if they are doing so sub-optimally.

To ask a question after that, what sort of differences did you see between 4096 and 3072, similarly what about 2048?  Both performance and image quality?

Some screenshots of the exact same scenes with the different settings would be nice.
