    To fix stuttering when un-scoping, add lines to the StarfieldCustom.ini file:
    [Textures]
    uiMinimumDecreasePerIterationScreenSize=0
    The default value: 34

    I've been gone from the game for a while now, is this update still necessary as of the 2/20/24 update?

    After the update I'm having 1~2 secs of stuttering when swapping, tinkering rare/legendary armors. This game is beyond saving.

    Just in case anyone is wondering, the ASI version of this seems to still be working fine in version 1.11.36.

      Actually, testing again without it, I don't think I even need this mod anymore.  Maybe Bethesda fixed the stutter in vanilla?

    This mod used to work for me, but I still have stuttering when swapping weapons. All my weapons are modified, even the cutter (skin). I haven't yet tried unmodified weapons.

    Could it be the more than 150k mass of materials I'm lugging around in my ship's cargo?

      Bethesda applied this fix in the game with version 1.7.33. AFAIK the mod is not needed anymore and doesn't make a difference. (According to my own testing anyways)

      This happened to me but once. After restarting the game, the stuttering disappeared.

      Hello! Can also confirm that weapon swap stuttering occurs for me for last 2 patches too (1.8.86 and 1.8.88), with or without the mod :/

      A large amount of inventory items is directly correlated to how badly you'll stutter, but it's likely multiplied by the amount of modifications on your weapons, it's the same shitty engine oversight that's been in the game since at least skyrim, game reads the whole inventory every time you swap weapons for some ungodly reason it seems like.

      Never mind, I compared it to results from previous test cases, and also made sure my inventory was the same, it seems to be about on par with previous versions. I believe the mod is working fine.

    The un-scope stutter occurs for me still, even after the ini lines applied and this mod installed. Odd stuff.

    VOrtex installs to wrong folder... STILL after their update. Folks should put the file in the main game folder.  (:\XboxGames\Starfield\Content) for Game Pass

    I'm still getting a slight stutter when unscoping my sniper, all these other stutters while switching are gone completely except this unscoping with my sniper. (HARD TARGET - with all 7 mod slots used and a long scope specifically)

    I see two comments saying to fix it, the pinned one by the author
    [Textures]
    uiMinimumDecreasePerIterationScreenSize=0

    and another one more recently
    [Textures]
    uiMinimumDecreasePerIteratijavascript-event-stripped0

    Followed by someone else saying this makes the game keep soaking up VRAM

    I have tried this aswell when it was suggested, however the tradeoff is something really bad, your VRAM consumption keeps climbing and climbing.

    And then the mod author replying with this
    [Textures]
    bIgnoreGPUBudget=1

    So, I just want some clarification, if I have this mod installed (just the base version with no further tweaks) what should I be adding to the Starfieldcustom.ini to get rid of the unscoping stutter?  All of the above, or what?

      Hi, what is the one under "and another one more recently"?
      You have the javascript error, just select the "=" and make it bold so no java error :)
      Or maybe it's the same but with the error you got?

    I couldnt reply to your post so i copied the whole thing lol. I was scepticule about this one but man it really works TYSM. I just tested with a magsniper with a long scope and without the command line i get a big frametime spike of like 120 ms but now its gone  again TYSM. :)

      I have tried this aswell when it was suggested, however the tradeoff is something really bad, your VRAM consumption keeps climbing and climbing.
      I only played until it was reaching 10GB out of the 12GB i have, it steadily climbed from ~5GB to that amount the more i played.
      Obviously i wasn't really interested to find out what happens when it reaches the cap (i know what should happen, but didn't care to see it).

      This is what I am using, but VRAM usage still skyrockets. It was using roughly double that of vanilla after about an hour of playtime.

      OMG people, please highlight the = sign in your post, click Font Size, normal in the edit menu, and save. That gets rid of the javascript event error making the code you are trying to share unreadable!
