    Locked
    Sticky
You may have noticed i locked this comment area, it wasnt because of anything negative or bad, i just felt this simply isnt the place to troubleshoot everyone's mods and load orders

I also feel like it should be common knowledge what to do with this ini now, and how mods are working at the time of this lock.

I hope everyone continues to enjoy playing starfield.

    Hi,
Need help here. Every time I activate bInvalidateOlderFiles=1
My game enters into an infinite loading loop.
    Can anyone help?

Yeah my custom INI wasn't working for some reason but this one did, really want to know why so i can avoid in the future but thank you, it's got my mod working now.

its most likely cause you created a .ini.txt not a .ini

because windows likely protected the known file extension .txt from actually being renamed and changed

Yeah its not that because SIntroSequence=0 was working in my .ini but bInvalidateOlderFiles=1 wasn't.
I suspect somebody's been adding hidden characters to the copy-pastes going around as a joke.
Anyway, this .ini works great, thanks much

to comment on this somehow some mods ended up with stuff like this in the description of what to copy and paste into the file

the archive group tag wasn't color-coded as normal, so I selected to view all non-printable characters and it shows a "ZWNBSP", basically an invisible white-space, right at the start of the line.

This.... Use Notepad++ to view non printed characters.

I had problems with modding - this is the only thing that helped. Thank you!

I don't get it. Will you show me an example with actual script for the game, please?

Just wanted to say Thanks for the 'Custom.ini file.
I was directed here by someone else who had issues with their texture mods not working.
Replaced the one I made with yours and now I'm good to go.  :-)

    Thank you!

Goto your Documents folder. There should be a My Games folder which should contain Starfield.
Should look like this: (whatever your PC name is)/Documents/My Games/Starfield
