Been trying to update this myself but the source code for this mod is way out of date and one of the calls in here makes no sense auto playerNode3rd = thePlayer->Unk_AB(retRef, 0); //???????
Most of the unk functions in the CommonLibSF don't even take parameters so I have to go spelunking through git history. Just venting. ARRRGH.
I would honestly be happy if we could just setscale our own characters. Don't know why Bethesda won't allow us to do that when every other NPC can be setscaled.
You will be downloading a whole second copy of the game and overwriting the current one so you'll need 200+ Gb. The commands from start to finish go as follows: Enter the command into any web browsers address bar steam://nav/console This opens steam console command and you'll likely get a prompt that steam is trying to open. next enter these 3 prompts into the steam console command to download the files, the prompt bar is at the bottom: download_depot 1716740 1716741 8383043874900915235 download_depot 1716740 1716742 6008474643612282085 download_depot 1716740 1716747 64361916055513149
Once all three have finished downloading steam will tell you where the files are and like I mentioned all you have to do now is transfer them into your main Starfield folder the one containing the exe file.
Last step is you have to download the correct version of script extender, it's the one released the 14th of September 2023 and its available here on nexus.
You'll likely never want to update Starfield again so turn off automatic updates and when you run the game switch steam to offline mode if there is a pending update.
Lastly load up the game and set your player scale to your liking.
I should add that you will likely have to start a new game using this method unless you have an old save that is from around September 2023. Also I have an idea of why the randomizer isn't working but it's going to take some time to figure out and I really just want to play the game for a while before I try to figure out why this is happening.
Ok correction once i made it to new Atlantis I could clearly see the height randomizer working. Random citizens are different heights even Sarah is shorter than her counter parts. It just doesn't seem to work on enemies or anyone on the first planet. You still need both mods this randomizer and the set scale fixer and good news is many other mods are still working like my hair mod. I will try to update if i find anything game breaking, so far the only thing I noticed is grabbing some items or opening some lockers takes a bit of finesse. Also some NPCs will change size when using furniture but I think I saw a mod for that but as for me I'm really happy that the two days of trying to figure this out has paid off.
Oh so that was the build I used, 13 September. Starfield frankly doesn't really grab me at the moment enough to mod it, we'll see if the game gets better when Shattered Space releases. Good to know the build though, I had forgotten by now. Will be helpful to update the stuff I have if I ever get back to it.
I'm wondering if shatter space dlc will work using the build I'm running. The September 13th build has a 3rd set of files that all later builds do not have. I'll surely try it but for now I'm happy that your mod is working on the build I'm running.
Glad my comment has been helpful and your mod works great so kudos, just seems ridiculous that updates break mods and modders have to fix what was broken. Reminds me of the historical arms race, a new armor is invented so a new weapon has to be invented to defeat it.
I was going to download this, but if it hasn't been updated to the latest version I guess I will pass. Shame. I really would've loved to see this in my playthrough.
I got a lot of enjoyment out of this mod while it still worked, but since the last patch broke it, and carxt is taking a hiatus from Starfield, I decided to make my own. It's a plugin, so unless BGS does something drastic, it shouldn't break with future updates.
