This game doesn't even have a brightness slider!

You can solve this by using reshade "levels" effect. It is really a shame. Some planets or areas are too dark. But I did manage to solve this that way

There are gamma settings in the ini but editing the ini is a real wild west at the moment.

Bilago's Config Tool makes it a bit easier to edit the ini but yeah.

levels is a bad way to use lighting

prod 80s brightness, saturation and contrast handles this much better - also with gamma

I think you should maybe add some more comparison images if possible, so other people understand how much taa ruins the image quality and blurs everything

I was wondering why my game looked like I smeared vaseline into my eyes. Thanks for this!

The worst for me is the damn ghosting effect on things in motion. Like characters, objects, or even the environment when the camera is moving. Horrible. TAA does get rid of the jagged edges, but at what cost.

Can't you just simply run FSR with 100% scaling, tgat should disable TAA and act like some sort of AA on its own? (need to check that myself tough)

FSR is a form of TAA. It may be better than traditional TAA but its still TAA. So if you want no TAA at all or no AA at all even this is how you do it

edit: nevermind, turning off TAA for me caused way too many weird effect glitches. i decided to keep it on and used reshade sharpening with it

Disabling TAA will most likely break FSR2 or any mod you're using to replace it, as it uses it to work. Fair warning. since most are probably using it or DLSS for better performance
