The creator of StarUI Inventory has released StarUI HUD which adds V/M and more and is customizable. I suggest you go with their mod instead.
Overview This mod modifies the item card that appears when you highlight an item. Instead of only displaying the value of an item, the card will now show the item's value per mass (V/M) and the weapon's damage per second (DPS). Mod manager version includes 30fps, 60fps and 120fps options.
Installation Instructions
Enable Modding
Download "StarfieldCustom.ini" from the Files page, under Optional Files.
Extract "StarfieldCustom.ini" to your "Documents\My Games\Starfield" folder: C:\Users\<Your Username>\Documents\My Games\Starfield
If it already exists or you want to create it yourself, make sure it contains the following:
Install with Vortex or Mod Organizer 2 (RECOMMENDED) I highly recommend using a mod manager to install the mod. But if you prefer to install them manually, follow the instructions below.
Manual Install (Steam Version)
Download "Better Item Cards (Manual Install)" from the Files page, under Optional Files.
Extract the mod files into your Starfield data folder: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Starfield\Data
If you installed Starfield in another location, you can find it by right-clicking Starfield in Steam and selecting "Manage -> Browse local files".
Manual Install (Game Pass Version)
Download "Better Item Cards (Manual Install)" from the Files page, under Optional Files.
Extract the mod files into your Starfield data folder: C:\Users\<Your Username>\Documents\My Games\Starfield\Data
