A second Main file with atmospheric scattering has been added to make the sky not look so bright, but this comes at the cost of performance. Also adds fSkyCubemapAtmosphericScatteringIntensity=0.5 to control the darkness of shadows on the surface of planets as well. Increase the number for brighter shadows, or decrease for darker shadows. This can make shadows pitch black if set low enough.
Additionally, in case some of you are curious, I've added a text document in the Miscellaneous category under Files which contains all default StarfieldCustom.ini settings. These will contain default values so if you want to tweak anything, you can compare the values in my mod to that of the text document I've uploaded with all of these settings. Enjoy!
ah ben oui, c'est sûr, c'est plus fluide... mais c'est tellement moche !!! Je préfère le régler sur élevé/moyen et jouer à 30 ips sans le mod. Avec ça, c'est trop moche.
ah well yes, it's sure, it's more fluid...but it's so ugly!!! I prefer to set it to high/medium and play at 30fps without the mod. With it, it's too ugly.
pretty heavy handed for most people, imo, but even just as a resource for making one's own tweaks this is a Todd-send. thank you, Lord of Testicles (weird name but okay)
Just wanted to say thank you dude for the info you've gathered here and of course for the mod/ini files itself. More importantly than the fps gain, for me these settings was able to get rid of stuttering and stabilizes my 1% lows and my sessions have been more butter smooth and less nauseating inducing. Once again awesome mod man.
Probably great mod, but no idea how / where to install it :( ... Steam version ) there's nothing in "My Games" or "Documents" - how do You guys install this ?
Thank you for the mod. This is such a great help. But I must say I'm not a pro in case of modding while I do really like downloading and using mods. Can you please help me out? I really love the fog all around and the sandstorms on dusty planets but this mod just removes it completely. Any way to just bring back the fog? Or will the fps go back to as it was in vanilla? If you could name the command line for fog which I have to disable to bring it back, that'll be much of a help.
Hello and sorry for the late reply. To bring the fog back I believe it is a combination of volumetric lighting settings, but it will indeed lower your fps if you add the values for the settings back in. If you get the file that has all the default values in the Misc category in the Files tab, you can replace all the volumetric lighting and fog values from the mod and set them back to default, or play around with them to make the fog less or more intense. I believe you want to look for all settings that have the keyword VolumetricLighting in them, and maybe ones that have Fog as well. I hope this helps!
First of all, thank you. Using your mod has improved the frame rate of my game. However, I found that when I enter my spaceship or the laboratory on the surface of the planet in snowy weather, it is also snowing indoors. What is going on?
