Worst mod ever. i've tried 2 savegames. A first one (Homesteader), as you start with a farmer in the wild, a rock prevent you to access the main door of your outpost, got CTD when editing (CharGen) this crappy dude. A second one (Xenobiologist), you start like a "penis', lost in space in an almost empty room.... Not recommended and not endorsed - Indeed.
Im curious at your implementation. I have always thought in my head that a good setup would involve a similar idea to yours, giving the character a starter ship and a basic loadout based on his background, but the MQ would be kickstarted by interacting with a argos recruitment station in any major city. It would prompt you if you wanted to join a mining expedition, thus kickstarting the intro scene at any point during the game you wanted to do it. Until then the Lodge would be locked.
Is this mod at all feasible on CK? Would you be able to port it to xbox?
Honestly, I'd like starting options where you don't have a ship and somehow have to first scrape together the money to buy one, or get some junker through lengthy quests, but that would likely require more than just an alternate start mod to be feasible, like some sort of local jobs.
I like this idea as well, but depending on economy mods you might have installed it could be problematic to get funds to get off planet. A small ship like the junker watchdog (from the trackers alliance quest) would be a neat starter ship, even more basic than the frontier, basically just a cockpit and a frying pan.
or as an alternate hardcore start you start at a ship crash site with enough food and water to last a week with only a melee weapon and some supplies scattered around the wreckage and u start with like 2 digi picks and a weapon locker novice lock to open to get a weapon and depending where you start u can have to fight the local fauna and local pirates or ecliptic and you have to wait for a ship to land or use a distress beacon and wait 1 week but u can only sleep during night cycles and have to explore/do radiants to pass the time and get provisions to survive until your distress beacon activates and you can catch a ride you then go to a major city whichever one is closest also for the no ship start implement a new mod that acts as a carriage mod like in skyrim where you can pay to hop on a passenger ship to go to any major city to start life and do quests/ harvest and mine to make money but you need to make minerals more expensive also make it so that u can buy a Junker from a ship technician with his dialogue being like i cant afford an expensive ship do you have any cheap fixer upper, initiate negotiation and haggle down from 15000 starting to 10000 at the cheapest and then when you buy the Junker you find a note next to the cockpit in the captains storage that starts you on the main questline ie you find in the storage a job offer to do the starting quest also man i can think of tons of alternate starts for this game man i wish someone would actually make this mod i would but im too dumb but man do i have ideas to implement i wonder if anyone will ever see this post id love to hear your guys thoughts on this i will respond and give more examples of great alternate starts and would love to hear what you guys want as one
I've always wanted the same thing. You start as some random person in the world and have to work or save up for your first space suit, then find a way to get a ship. You have to live on a planet like a normal person until you are able to explore the universe.
no unfortunately so...no way to hitch a ride with a pilot...that says so much about the missing aspects that only years of modders MAY include...one of the many ideals starfield devs set aside...how can they NOT have made a hitch hiker stat for non pilots is beyond me...still i play on and on and on lol...but yeah me too ...they got the seats in the cockpit but the captain cant have a pilot and nav and weapons officer to command...sigh...allinwonderonesomeness is all we get so far
Looks good but I'm missing one on your comprehensive listTrader or frieght hauler. OOPS sorry missed the long hauler. but some kind of trader would be nice.
This doesn't seem to be working unless I'm doing something wrong. I put the Accept Sysdef Crimson Fleet save file into my Saves folder, but I can't seem to find it when I'm loading from the menu. I have just my already made character as one of the options with all of my saves but I can't find any new character, or any save for this file in my current character

Huge missed opportunity.
