I have an RX590, and this mod does nothing for me. Still get crashes, especially in cities. Akila city is the worst offender. Does Vortex work, or does it need to be a manual install?
Edit: have now tried both manual and Vortex install. Mod does nothing for me but make the game look like potato
Danke für den Fix konnte vorher Akila City nicht betreten ist immer kurz vor der Wache die einen anspricht abgeschmiert und jetzt kann ich endlich die Quest mit Sam Coe weiter machen danke dir <3
If you tried this mod but still experience crashes (like I did), there might be a solution - namely, this mod is missing an important piece to the puzzle. See here: https://www.reddit.com/r/Starfield/comments/16mvog7/still_struggling_with_crashes_on_amd_cards_try/?
Thanks for this fix, but it doesn't work very well for me, I keep having sporadic crashes over time, in planets it happens almost 0 but in cities like New Altlantis it crashes very often.I play the XBOX Game Pass version.
This fixed crashes with my RX590 system. Crashed every few secs on High resolution and every min or so on low. Akila city crashed just being there. I can now run on high resolution with shadows on low. Akila city is no longer a problem! TY TY TY
Hello friends! I solved crashes on my RX480 4Gb. I found that VRAM is one of limitation. When it going to max then RAM going to 16 Gb and then crash. So I limited VRAM usage with 512 textures and shadows ini tweaking. Reduced textures aren't main requirement but I use one ini tweak to disable gpu budget for lesser scanner freezes. So reduced textures are must have.
yeah still crashing bro, but thanks for trying, im just gonna play without shadows anyway, maybe bethesda release a patch and resolve this in the future :)
try the mod, low settings on shadow quality and contact shadows turn off upscaling turn off motion blur and depth of field set everything else to high not ultra turn off vsync as well and allow your graphics card to handle it instead (in my case it is Radeon enhanced sync: enabled)
these are my settings and I haven't crashed, maybe aside from the shadows one of those things I turned off is helping prevent crashes
Make sure to close all background problem. The crash have something to do with AMD RX 5xx series and ram leak. I notice the game will start freeze and eventually crash when ram usage hit 15/16GB. This mod help reduce ram usage to ~13GB so no crash. If I crank graphics setting or open chrome in the background and ram usage hit 16GB again then it will crash.
I have an RX590 sapphire nitro+ and with this file these are my in-game and Adrenaline settings: I use 1080p AOC monitor @ 144hz refresh rate In-game: Dynamic Resolution: OFF - I have mine OFF it doesn't seem to make a difference for me.
Render resolution scale: 50% (this is important for me I have as to maintain this percentage I have to use FSR2)
All settings are set to 'LOW' except for 'Indirect Lighting' which is set to medium to have a somewhat good looking game.
Motion Blur / Vsync: OFF
Sharpening: 33%
Film Gran Intensity: 1.00
Enable depth of field: ON
ADRENALINE SETTINGS:
Radeon Chill: Enabled
Min fps: 25
Max fps: 71
AMD freesync: AMD opitimized
I seem to be getting fair quality with hardly any issues. Hope this helps.

This entirely eliminated any random CTDs for me.
My PC:
CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 3700X
GPU: AMD RADEON RX580 Sapphire
RAM: 16GB DDR4 3600Mhz (2x8Gb in Dual Channel)
MB: Gigabyte X570 AORUS ELITE
HDD/SSD:
C:/Windows (Samsung SSD 860 EVO 250GB)
D:/ (HDD WD30EZRX 3TB)
E:/ (HDD ST500DM002 500GB)
F:/ (HDD WD30EZRX 2TB)
G:/ WITH STARFIELD (Samsung SSD 980 PRO 1TB)
any ideas on what I can do to try to resolve the problem?
thank you
