Some pople don't like the more "plastic" or "marble" look, how you call it. ;) For now, to remove this, is to delete all _rough.dds textures (~450mb) from every planet (same for NASA mod's) in \Textures\planets\namedplanets & \Textures\planets\houdiniplanets\terrainmapsshared See the latest two screenshots.
There are 18 *.png leftovers (64mb) i forgot to delete. They are not used, you can delete them.
If you notice when entering a solar system, the star is loading behind and/or have massive drops while loading all planets and dont have enough powerful hardware, you can delete these 3 files.
do you have this uploaded anywhere else? or could you? the nexus throttling is ridiculous 1 MB/sec. on a gigabit fiber optic connection taking over 2 hours for 11GB is disgusting. it would be great if this could be uploaded to github or archive.org .
Hey i play alot. I think the only unrealistic thing is the most gasgiants (no poblem with ice ones) planets look exactly the same not like in sol system: jupiter and saturn.
Can you make a version with little bit different gas giant textures ? (i dont mean complete color swap)
Im done with the mod and IF i would change generic gas planets, then they would also look like the same. Its also hard with whats given to make textures for their generic textures somewhat different.
Cool mod, could you please add a Ba2 version of the files and a plugin to load them ? It would improve the texture loading times a lot. Thx for this mod

I dont have the Star files anymore and also deleted all my backups, first, too much space and 2nd im done with this game. Maybe someone is so kind and can help you out and/or provide me a link with those files and then im happy to link them here. Or you can just download Part 1, thats where they are inlucluded.
Just downloaded part I and installed Star textures and... it's amazing compared to vanilla, my jaw dropped to the floor. Also checked Jupiter textures (not NASA ones) and it's impressive in 8k. I mean, the mod is done, and i didnt play the game anymore nor do i have interest in the game anymore, it was barely to begin with and i only wanted to mod something. I dunno, i dont like Bethesda and the game is rather dull than good.
Say I am right outside Paradiso, I can survey the planet and enjoy your 8k detailed planet texture. Then I land ... I have a pitch black screen with UI active. I try jumping, jetpack, I hear the sound. I land and hurt my leg, Andreja make a comment about it. But everything pitch black. I try going in and out of inventory .... I see a glimpse of the real world in between, just for a split second. Inventory and other menus work fine.
This happened while flying too. I see my flying UI but pitch black otherwise. I can hear myself shooting.
I removed this mod. Everything is fine. After 2 weeks, with Nvidia updated driver, I tried this mod again, same "pitch black" screen happened again. So I conclude that maybe the game has to load such a huge file it runs out of memory or something.
My card is 4060Ti 8Gb running on 1440p (borderless). I have DLSS-G 3.5 on (I think I turned off DLSS, but didnt help).
Oh, I notice I didn't do what you put on sticky about deleting 3 files. Maybe I should do it, can't hurt.

I have, however, some issues as since I have installed your mod using VORTEX, now all planets, even those from Sol, are missing textures.

I can provide other examples. But simply put, now all planets have some blank textures with little to no relief.
