No he did not, and I never had issue with landing gears as far as I am aware unless that is the issue I had with max length/width though really don't think so. As mine is using a spear shaped ship as a base and in front half is just (3 floors of rooms like a giant box) with the back staying as just a shaft spear shape with all the important stuff which is forcing me to use only small sized cockpits since its length goes too far.
Pretty good, look foward to seeing you redo it if/when modders give massive overhauls too ship building in far future. :) assuming you end up wanting too at that time.
That depends if Starfield will still float my boat at that time.
I usually also stay away from Star Wars and other big franchise remakes of ships, simply because they turn every game into a SW game and potentially into a total conversion.... which I don't want to spend years on developing.
The falcon is a bit special in my book, so I gave that a shot and it seemed feasible with the blocks available to get pretty close to having a good result.
I might have a look if I can substitute the blocks to have it work vanilla without errors.
understandable, I mean other people will make plenty of star wars things though and imo that great. (So long it not Diznay stor wars and its a massive conversion/enough mods too make it one, as that would make the game really interesting and worth a playthrough all on its own).
(like the already storm trooper ones they very well done).
From a galaxy far far away comes The Scoundrel in 2 variants
Variant 1: Deimos cockpit Variant 2: Nova Galactic cockpit
This is my savegame that you can use to deconstruct or construct your own Falcon.
I used Cheatengine and the 'starfield ship builder limits' file to build this.
Find the file here
https://www.nexusmods.com/starfield/mods/803
look for cheatengine on google.
By deconstruct I mean, open shipbuilder and look what parts I used to create this ship by moving them out of the way. Then make screenshots and make your own version for your game, like you would when building a lego set.
Unfortunately Bethesda has not provided us with an export function to share our builds and also put some IMHO stupid restrictions on what can be used and what not.
The file above and cheatengine are required to remove those restrictions.

enjoy.
The cockpit is thus not the center, the center is where it should be.

You can see in the images there are 2x Shield Generators which among other things cannot be built using vanilla.

Deconstructing it is still possible in the shipbuilder and have a look at all the blocks I used by moving them out of the way.
Cheatengine and the 'starfield ship builder limits' file is required to have the ship show up as 'nominal' on the check.
