I’m running this mod using the listed “fast start slow end” .ini and up to level 29 I’ve been getting 7 perk points instead of 3. I have a workaround by simply deleting a rank 4 perk and using the extra points to refund it. Is there a better solution to this?
So what happens if I already leveled up a little? Will i Only get 3 points if I level up to 16 or will I get all the extra points I woudlve gotten if I installed the mod at level 1? Does this work with the latest update?
It works, but don't try to accumulate skill points, spend them as you get them. If you have unspent skill points the mod doesn't work. Don't know if it works retroactively.
Has anyone else noticed perk points not being allocated in the latest update if you have unused perk points? I never noticed it in earlier versions of Starfield just the latest one. To verify I loaded a save from before my last level-up up which gave no perk points, applied the unused perk points, and then proceded to level up. This time the level-up applied the correct number of perk points.
I was also interested in this frequency. I renamed the ini and the only thing in it are the lines you suggest. The log gives an error: could not read/parse pppl.ini. The extrapolated frequency in the log is the default, with 2 perks per level. I installed via vortex if that makes a difference.
Edit: Nevermind, I think I was looking in the wrong folder. I assumed open in file manager in vortex would open the right folder but it doesn't. I went to the Starfield/Data and found the example ini and followed your instructions and the log reads correctly now, ty.
Hello! I am having issues personalizing the points per level. I followed the instructions in the description and changed the numbers in the pppl.ini in the data/sfse/plugins folder but the ppl is still only two points each level and not the new values that I put into the file.
Edit: looking in the pppl_plugin.log0 file it has the correct config path but it says could not read/parse config file. The table shown in the file shows every level being awarded 2 points. Not sure what to do next.
Edit 2: I figured out the issue. In the pppl.ini you have to remove all of the text and semi colons and under the [points] line only put the level number and the number of points desired for the level separated by two spaces and and equal sign "2 = 3". The other problem is that is seemed as though once the log was created, it would not update when it could not read the config file even if the .ini was formatted correctly. I deleted the pppl files in the log folder and ran the game again and when the log file appeared again everything was according to the parameters I set in the .ini.
Hopefully my struggle helps someone else dealing with the issue. It works perfectly now. Cheers!
hi! i've tried to install this mod a few times and despite following your instructions to the letter, i cannot seem to get the mod to work. i have a test save file where i am one kill away from level 2, and when i level, it always gives me only 1 perk point. i have not touched the pppl_example file and am using the default settings. i notice that in the pppl_plugin file in Games/Starfield/SFSE/Logs that there is a line that says "Sig not found." what am i doing wrong?
