I think like 50% opacity on the particles would be a good trade-off. That way they aren't so glaringly obvious, but you'll subconsciously still see them and you won't get confused as to your direction of movement.
greenblazes, thanks for the options. I like the space particle as is.
This goes back to the time I tried Space Simulator. While it was simulating space flight, it was incredibly boring. I couldn't tell if I was moving. (Needless to say I lasted 2 hours in that game). So a little visual is a better compromise between realism and convenience .
Sorry, I'm not understanding how to add the StarfieldCustom.ini file with the text you provided. I do have a file with that name from another mod, but I'm not sure if I should make a new file or just paste the line you provided into the one I already have. Any assistance is appreciated!
You need a StarfieldCustom.ini inside your My Games/Starfield directory. Just copy and paste the following lines into this .ini. If you already have this .ini, these lines are probably already there.
roanqoan, just think of StarfieldCustom.ini as your initial setting file (ini file after all). This file and Plugins.txt files are to be edited a lot by you. Make sure you backup them once a month (or more often) in case they get corrupted.
same... and so many space games do this nonsense these days...
i get it you want to give me a sense of speed... but that ain't space travel. actually newtonian physics would be cool for once. you accelerate and kill the engines, guess, what you keep going and your ship doesn't rattle like crazy either, because you just float with nothing, no gravity, no drag from air or whatever slowing you down again until you fire reverse thrusters (which kudos to the game, acutally happens when you boost, just for some reason the reverse thrusters instantly fire when your boost meter is empty, just let me go that faster speed until i hit the brakes myself. What a waste of imaginary space fuel...)

Then why didn't you remove the particles as well?
If you would like me to release an optional file that removes the particles as well I can look into that :)
Can you make no dust/more particles version?

Thanks mate. :-)
Since I started using LUTs these stupid smoke clouds have become quite apparent.
-Data
--Textures
---effects
----smokemist_opacity.dds
The first folder in the zip file should be Data, not NoSpaceDust_1.0.0.
I hate this effect. Its so unrealistic
