for anyone who is thinking about getting this but worried that it's really complicated and such, don't worry about it. i thought it'd be complicated but no, its just drag and drop and click a button. literally takes ~10 seconds to extract a 300 mb .ba2
Hi everyone. It have a long time. I haven't download anything but ever since ''next gen''. updates got out I cannot use the old BAE to read and extract some BSA packs that were renewed. I'm reading comments from August and seems like the issue was not fixed? Or is this for Starfield users? I'm looking to use for Fallout 4 by the way.
I really want to remap textures, pull back the new .bgsm files for materials since 3D tools are missmatching the textures and materials from the new version.
Hope it helps what am I looking with this BAE in Starfield column.
Just tested and still impossible to read .BSA packs from April 4th.....now I'm sad...it's been 6 months since I've bought a fantastic PC and it have been a months I cannot suceed to mod as used this game. Surely before Next gen updates, my old BAE was working but now I'm sad. Please let the community know you are working for an update....please.
Hello fella but it looks like there is a replacement for the old B.A.E. which is https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/81640 I'm going to be starting to use by today. So silly of my part in not looking for recent modifications.
https://starfieldportal.com/article/starfield-weapon-skins This website says there is something akin to an instruction manual for this tool, but I didn't see one on the page or in the download; how do I find the manual/where to find the skins for equipment?
I believe I previously found your tool in the Fallout 4 mods section but never found a way to follow your project outside of a specific game. Do you have a Github repo with the releases?
I'm currently looking for some specific models (the round-ish file cabinets containing Technical Data) - I was wondering if it also works with Fallout76 (I assume so but an official answer is better )
Does the search field support regular expressions? (or a tiny subset?)
I've tried to set up the resource archives but when I select anything it does nothing, just leaves it blank. Also when I try to open a .nif or BSA they say it can't be opened. Not sure what to do, would love help.
Anyone know why when I put a .ba2 file into the extractor, I see literally nothing? As in nothing shows up. It's just a blank white background. It does this with every file it can take.
The next gen update is the culprit. The latest version of Archive2 makes files differently and BAE cannot read them for now. You can still extract archives via the Archive2 utility, but keep in mind it flattens texture that have mipmaps.
Also, vortex needs to be updated as well since it cannot recognize those new archives and shoots a warning.
I am having this problem too. I'm trying to learn how to mod and what I've found online says that I neeeeeeed this program to extract the files. Is there any other way?
go to steam/steamapps/common/whichevergameitis/Tools/Archive2 Open the exe. Go to file Open pick whatever you want to deal with it will show up in the main window of the utility. Then just click on archive to get the drop down and pick Extract all to
@gentester Unfortunately the mod author for archive2 took it down telling everyone to use the one that comes with the CK except there IS NO ARCHIVE2 THAT COMES WITH THE CK!!!!!!!!!!!! >:(
Archive2 is included in the 'Tools' folder of the Starfield installation where the .exe is (e.g: Steam\steamapps\common\Starfield\Tools). I don't know if that has always been in there or is added when you download the CK. Personally I prefer BAE though.

Does anyone know why?
AVOID! Seek alternatives.
