I don't quite know why, but your mod doesn't work quite right for me. I have created a slightly different version that works for me, but I used your mod as a base to create it. I basically just changed the StarfieldConsole.ini settings and now it works fine in my game. I would like to share my modification of your mod , with your permission. I would give you credit and put the link to this mod . Can I do it?
I noticed the other mods popping up as well! I'll give your version a try next, maybe it just takes some calibration and some trial & error to dial-in my ideal settings.
I am left wondering if it is at all possible to track how close you are to the closest planet/moon and adjust the speed values on the fly, so that you speed up the further you get and slow down the closer you get. If someone can figure out how to script that someday in Starfield, that would be awesome.
But in the meantime, thanks to busylancer for this mod and to you, adriancid, for your tweaks. It's fun to play around with.
Turns out you can fly to stars in the center of the system and they are actually there, animated and all. I don't know why they would spend time on those assets if you can't visit them normally
For those who are wondering : this is not a troll or a joke.
Yes you can go to the star in the center of the system (takes a few minutes though), yes it is animated, the more curious is that you can target the star like a planet by pressing "E" and it'll indicated the distance like with any other space object, in the tab menu you'll have the star as the current objet you're orbtiting around and the galatic map will place you on the star, so basically the game recognise that you're orbiting around the star.
In the opposite : you will not be able to open the map by pressing "R", there's no "zoomed" map like for the other objects and like the other planets/moons, if you come too close you just go through (a shame they take the time make it possible to come close and did not add some damage the closer you get to the star and/or just let you die if you come to close or into it).
But yeah, it's there, even though it would take weeks or month, if not impossible at all, to get to it in vanilla
maybe that shows they were gonna do all this stuff these mods are doing or they obviously know people will mod it to do this if they implement no planet or moon traveling.
I'm not certain about this, but it looks like the boost keeps lasting forever even when crusing is disabled... So I'm back to normal speed but with everlasting boost everytime I trigger it unless I cut the engines power and patiently wait for the ship to decelerate....
Love the new addition and not needing to use ship ID, but I actually went with another mod that got spaceshipenginepartmaxforwardspeed better Big up :)
Hey can anyone help me with this, no matter what I do my F2 and F3 keys will only control my volume. I have tried a bunch of different things to activate 'hotkeys' but I cant figure it out, I've held down every combination of the WIndows key, ctrl key, and alt key that I can think of. I have watched different videos but I'm just not getting the exact same menus they are. Im running on WIndows 11. help appreciated.
OK I tried it. Went on earth, tried to go to the moon™ 1 : It took me 5 minutes 2 : Had to control the course as it was drifting of course a lot so no cannot set a direction and go take a shower or something 3 : Yeah you really reach the moon, full resolution moon just like when you fast travel there 4 : The game understand you reached the moon and show on the scanner the landing point
BUT
5 : Was curious, didn't stop my ship and went right thru the moon 6 : The moon then promptly faded out and wouldn't come back 7 : Couldn't use the scanner to scan the moon like when you orbit something normally
Basically, only the first fast travel target shows proper functionnality, travelling to it will still takes hour (moon is extremly close to earth) and isn't properly supported by the game
Still an interesting experience, but will not be using it again, was just curious how the game handle this.
Yeah this feature needs the CK or xedit to be fleshed out, once fully fleshed planets with collision and such get added to the solar system map instead of sprites it'll be a game-changer. Especially if it's integrated into the existing UI well enough.

...or, if not, would you be willing to share what you changed in the StarfieldConsole.ini settings?
