this mod is not necessary, because it is already in the game, you go to settings, controls and down the menu, there you have those settings, what we need is a type of grid or force objects to connect, I tried other mods like this and they do nothing, because it is already in the game options.
So i just had a look, 1 is max and my config is below max. It also says "outpost items" (tho its using the "workshop" value i use) and i know outpost has an extra value, so the one for workshop issnt in the options. Edit: Yeah, its not only outpost, but 1 is still min. Min value also doesnt need to be changed below 1 to trigger the effect.
yes, I noticed that even 1 is too much, but I tried other mods like this and I don't notice any difference between the game setting and the mod, I literally have the line at 0.1 and it stays the same in-game.
Changing the value in the starfieldpref.ini located in your documents folder also updates the ingame value from 1 to 0.25 if done correctly.
[Workshop] fItemRotationSpeed=0.2500
This "Mod" is not needed.
You'll know it works if it takes more than 30seconds for a full rotation. You can also pull up settings in game and hover over the rotation speed slider and it will reflect as .25x
If you want precise rotation you can always go into console mode (assuming you're on a PC) and click on the furniture (making sure it is the furniture: 'FURN...' I think?), then type GETANGLE Z and then change whatever it comes up with with SETANGLE Z ... bit at a time until it's alligned how you want it. More time consuming and fiddly, but what else did you have to do today?
As is always advisible, save before you do this in case you mess up : )
Would love it if you could add a CCR (Console Command Runner) version of this mod. Maybe even require it. Would be easier for people to install and you wouldn't have to troubleshoot people not setting up their .ini and .txt files properly. Better mod manager support too.
First off .. Thanks for taking your time and spending the effort and energy into making this mod .. I had no issues with decorating .. Thank You.
BUT(T) .. there is always a "but" right?? .. and the butt is usually me .. sadly .. lol .. not sure why, but for me this mod completely borked ship building .. add it in and the ship builder goes wonky, take it out and ship builder/building works .. added the mod in again and borked .. took it out and fine .. sigh .. I was really looking forward to this mod .. dangit .. back to sloppy decorating and slightly-off furniture and rugs .. and buildings .. nuts nuts nuts ..
.. and fwiw .. I blame Bethesda for not just using their already working Workshop from FO4 .. they (Bethesda) got so much right, and then dropped the ball for base building .. sigh ..
.. yeah .. I have/had both of them and could never get the to play well together .. it may even be a third mod that's adding to the issue?? .. who knows?? .. it just sucks I have not been able to sort it out .. my tough luck I suppose .. if I ever get it sorted I'll share the intel so it may help someone else ..
@FatherGuse: Do use both of them in sStartingConsoleCommand ? Because if you have too many files in there it can start to skip over files. Best way to tackle this is to make one master file and just put all content from all the bat files you're using in this one and only add this master file to sStartingConsoleCommand.
Hi, there. The mod seems to work, the console tells me that the mod is activated when I do bat BetterRotation. However the command fItemRotationSpeed=0.75 (or changing the value) is not recognized. So I'm left with the default value... Help!
Please tell the Installation Procedure exactly with paths (Data Folder in Documents or Data Folder in Gamedirectory) in time it do not work for me, there's something wrong, please help. Thanks a lot; Regards
