    1.1.1.0 has been released.

A small bug fix / QoL update

    • Due to a bug introduced with the free selection feature, that led to cell references not being able to be viewed, a selection "mode" toggle has been introduced. If you want to freely select grid cells, you can switch to/from select mode with the "S" key
    • A bug that led to World cell references not being shown has been fixed
    • Windows have been repositioned to allow viewing of the status bar by default on 1080p screens
    • Upon exiting the app the first time, an ini file will be created with positions/sizes of the windows - the next time you open it, the windows will be back where you left them
    • World entries have been added to the Object Window, under the tag WRLD
    • The day one bug that caused the application to crash on opening a file, has been finally fixed for good - no more debug dlls!
    • The Game Pass issue has been addressed - now you can pick any other .exe in the same folder as the game's main .exe, and it will identify the game and load the data.

Really cool, thank you. Wouldn't run for me initially. The error dialog said I didn't have Net installed. It would seem the link under requirements (dotnet-runtime-7.0.10-win-x64.exe) is incorrect while the link provided by ESM_Explorer.exe in the error dialog is the right one (windowsdesktop-runtime-7.0.13-win-x64.exe).

Absolutely amazing tool! Thanks to this, I was able to improve my mod significantly. Endorsed.

I am however running into a small bug. I can only run the program once. I tracked the issue down to your ESMExplorer.ini file. Deleting the file or changing the values within to whole numbers allows the program to run again. Just thought I should let you know.

Thanks for the bug report! I'll hopefully be able to catch up on everything sometime in Jan and release a fix

Installed. Open. Point to Starfield.exe. It says you don't have permission. Everything is set to administrator...the game exe and ESM explorer exe.  Anyone have this problem?

For the gamepass version, open the other .exe file in the same folder as Starfield.exe. The app only uses the selected file to identify the game, and doesn't even actually touch the file- however, due to the weird permissions, it won't even allow you to select it. So the workaround is to select the other .exe, and then the app will attempt to identify any of the supported game .exe in the same folder, finding Starfield.exe, and load everything normally.

If for whatever reason you don't have another .exe in that folder, make sure you have Windows set to show file extensions, create a new text file, and change the extension to .exe.

Be sure that everything is extracted from the archive so you don't look the fool.

Cannot get this to run at all, I keep getting the "you must install the 7.0.8 x64 runtime" popup error every time (even after installing it and rebooting).  Google seems to think there should be a "[MyApplicationNameHere].runtimeconfig.json" that goes with .Net Core (vs .Net Standalone) applications but there isn't one.

Irrelevant system details (not that it will help but lots of people seem to think it will):
    Windows 10 21H2 (10.0.19044.2251)
    Installed x64 .Net runtimes: 6.0.11, 7.0.0, 7.0.8, 7.0.10, 7.0.11
    Hardware: Ryzen 7 1800X, 64GB DDR4, GTX 1660 6GB, GTX 750Ti 2GB, 480GB SATA SSD, 1TB SATA SSD, 1TB M.2 SSD

I recommend manually downloading it via the button at the top of the page. For whatever reason I've gotten reports that Vortex is messing up installs, and either omitting files, or moving them somewhere else, resulting in that same error message.

For the record, the file you mention exists (as it should) within the manually downloaded zip.

Of course I manually downloaded it - using Vortex (which I don't) or MO2 (which I also don't) doesn't make sense in the context.  As to the file being there - yes it is - For some reason it didn't get extracted the first time.

Nevermind me then, carry on.  :)

      Glad to hear it!

The only reason I mentioned it, is because another person had the same issue. /shrug

This tool has saved me so much time and pain setting up a database of resources and planets. Thank you so much for building it.

I think the most helpful feature for me (and I'm sure it's a very niche feature) would be a convenient way to export the ObjectWindow tables as csv files.  Select all and copy paste into Excel does work, but (and this is entirely Excel's fault) Excel 'helpfully' tries to 'intelligently' detect data types on paste and screws up the hex values unless I force the column type to text and make sure to paste-special the values.  A way to directly export to csv would save time, since I'll potentially need to export a bunch of them at least for major updates.

Thanks for the Gamepass update!  I'm pleased to be able to nuke my symlink setup now.

That's definitely something I could toss in with the next update - should be trivial to add, but as I don't wish to turn this page into a nightly build repository, I'm going to wait until I have more to add.

Provided nobody runs across any major bugs, the next thing I want to tackle is some kind of cache, so users don't have to wait for the heat death of the universe each time they want to check something out.

I am new to this one, do you mind helping me find "set gs" commands, what do I need to search for in ESM explorer to find "gs" ? is it game setting?

I would like to add more values to my ini files. Thanks in advance !

Glad to hear it! I hoped by focusing on just viewing the data, rather than including all the overhead that comes with editing and creating, that it would be a smoother/quicker experience. Still gotta look into making subsequent loads quicker though - that's one thing xEdit has over mine in terms of speed /shrug
