Where is storage on Jemson (Alpha Century) expect on Lodge?

I think that most of us should use locations FAQ

It's further left to the Ship tech.
Container <---    Ramp to New Atlantis proper  ----> Ship Tech
The storage containers show up on your Scanner, for easier spotting in the future.
(I looked EVERYWHERE for that one, left to the tech was literally the last spot I ended up looking, searching the whole landing area)

Love the idea of this mod!

While I hate managing inventory, I feel most of the unlimited type mods are a bit generous, to the point of feeling like cheats.

This is a pretty cool - still getting the hang of it.

    FEEDBACK:  Tweaks
Absolutely love the mod - both concept and execution.

It would be handy in the future if the variables (BaseStrorageCost, etc.).were based on Globals, or maybe in the game settings, so we could adjust them to suit our personal challenge levels (I run a lean game, with a lot of reduced loot and credits for example).

    Additional Feedback:  Keys
Still playing the mod and enjoy finding the chests that are near the landing pads.
However - the key finding - a Free key is good - but I would rather have maybe a short quest, or errand to do - than have to play hide and seek (like for the Cydonia key).   Either on the mission board (Like "Logistics Help", or "Landing Pad Upgrades" some other quest).

Now - having written quests in the CK before (Skyrim and F4), unless there have been changes - that is not a trivial activity...
I don't mind working a bit for the key - but would like it to be less of a mystery and perhaps more of a task.

Thank you again for the mod, and look forward to any additional content in the future.

Look left as you exit the landing pad, there is a bunch of large storage crates. The container is there.

I'd assumed this was another cheat mod, but after checking out the description, this might be exactly what I need to hit that sweet spot of making long sidetracks more fun to engage in, without either just ... not picking anything up or making those constant trips to the Lodge, lol. Seems like a very - dare I say it - immersive implementation, too. I'll have to give your other mod a closer look as well. <3

      Appreciated!

I never saw any storage mods that tried to gamify things in the way I wanted, or even make any attempts at any kind of immersion. This mod was the biggest thing missing from the game for me and was on my mind for a long time. And I am super happy with how it turned out...I will never play again without this mod, that's for sure.

I'm working on adding a custom skill magazine to the world for some nice buffs, hopefully in the next week or so. Also will be adding some keys to certain NPCs for pickpocketing. Things like that are super important imo.

I will DEFINITELY check them out when you release. I've just started a new character with this mod and the implementation into the world is *chef's kiss*

I love playing grey characters, so giving those with flexible morals more to do, and more in-character ways to approach things (stealing keys, heck yes, exploring for magazines? I love it!) makes me very happy. I've also realized over the years that I no matter how cool a mod's functionality is, if it's fidgety to use or I have to keep referring to a manual to work it, I don't engage with it much. This mod's implementation feels very vanilla, in the best way possible. <3

The contents of my network seem to have disappeared.  I had about 550 worth of storage, mainly books and crafting materials, that are now all gone.  Loading a backup from several hours before shows the content still there.

The only thing I can think of that might have caused it is that I deleted some cargo storage off my ship immediately afterward (seeking the blessed 30ly jump range).  I'll do some testing and see if I can reproduce the problem.

And everything came back!  I wasn't overly wound up about losing some books and piles of aluminum, but it's nice to see.  :)  I still haven't established the cause for either disappearance or reappearance, though...

Glad you got your things back! I don't want to say never, but items *should* never actually disappear from the world - they are always somewhere, because they are transferred from one place to another using a single function call...they are never in any kind of limbo state.

What seems to happen sometimes is items can get stuck in a container when you leave an area if the unload event does not fire for some reason. If that happens, the items don't get put back in the vanilla lodge container. So when the next container is loaded, it looks inside the lodge container for the items and there is nothing to retrieve, therefore the network appears to be empty.

This happened before in a very specific circumstance that I believe is now fixed. It was when fast travelling from inside the ship to another nearby location on land - where the ship is not relocated but the player is (e.g fast travelling from inside the frontier on the landing pad to the lodge). I think I fixed this in v1.0.3. But if this sounds similar to how it happened to you, let me know. The ship panel complicates things - so whether you were inside the ship when this happened is definitely a factor.

Also I have found that some starstations behave inconsistently depending on how Bethesda decided to put them together.

I can fix these things on a case by case basis if I have the exact details of the location and what travel action was taken at the time the items became stuck...it seems you may have stumbled across an edge case that I just haven't found myself yet.

For now the fix is usually going to be to retrace your steps back to find the container where the items got stuck, then leave the area, and things should start working again.

Interesting. I've just had a similar loss, a bunch of spacesuits and apparel I was going to issue to crew at outposts just disappeared from the network. Nothing I can't replace but a minor annoyance. The fast-travel connection you mentioned is possible, I've certainly done that recently but I think it was only from one planet surface location to another, so possible red herring.

Anyway, now I can't remember exactly how/where so I know I'm not helping but just wanted to acknowledge the issue and the possible connection. I'll keep an eye on it in the future. Excellent mod otherwise!

Sorry to hear that. Annoying to hear as this issue is not happening in my game. I'm sure at some point someone will be able to give me the exact conditions it happens under, so I can reproduce the bug and fix it.

Like I said before though, just retrace your steps, and if your items aren't in any of the containers, they should be in the lodge.

For now the fix is usually going to be to retrace your steps back to find the container where the items got stuck, then leave the area, and
      things should start working again.

This looks to be the case.  It happened again; I was crafting at the Lodge, then fast-traveled to UC Dist to sell some crap.  Then I fast-traveled to the gun store to sell other stuff, and quit and saved for the night.  When I loaded up again today and FT'd to the Lodge, the container was empty.

I did some more questing and found the other containers also empty, but when I came back to New Atlantis and checked the container at the spaceport, all my stuff was there.  I suspect I visited that container to unload some resources from the ship and forgot about it before FT'ing to UC Dist, though I don't remember the exact sequence of events.

Ok this is great info, thank you. It sounds like the issue I thought I'd fixed - I'm guessing you probably FT'd from inside the ship to the lodge, and that was the moment the items got stuck in the NA landing pad container.

Can you confirm you are using the latest version? If you are on the latest, I will take another look at it, I guess I must have fixed it in a way that's not 100% bullet proof.

I actually wasn't on 1.0.4... turns out Vortex was lying to me about no mod updates (the auth token expires, and while new downloads will pop an error, "check for updates" will silently fail...)

I forced an update to 1.0.4, but I've managed to reproduce the problem anyway.  I'm not fast traveling out of a ship, but from out of the Lodge basement.  I managed to reproduce it this way:

         - Start in Lodge basement, storage is working normally.
         - FT to Commercial zone, run to UC Dist, enter and then turn around and leave.
         - Take train to MAST (to reproduce me running back while encumbered)
         - Run to Lodge and enter
         - Go to basement and found storage empty.

Going back to the spaceport to check the storage there causes everything to reappear, so nothing is lost.

It sounds close enough to the FT-from-ship situation you mentioned to have the same cause.

I appreciate all your hard work on this mod.  The edge cases must be so annoying.  I don't know the CK but I'm guessing Starfield lacks a proper generic "leaving zone" callback and you're needing to handcraft everything.

Thanks for these details! I will try and reproduce tomorrow, hopefully I can.

Haha it's kind of annoying, but also I appreciate the complexity of what they built so it's par for the course imo. I'm new to modding, but this is certainly not the worst environment I've ever had to work within lol. It's easy to dunk on Bethesda, but that's only because they are happy to reveal to the whole world how their game is made and let anyone who's interested build stuff on top of it. I bet there are far, far worse projects out there tbh.

I had the same problem, only jumping from one of my outposts that was linked on over to the lodge while the GSN interface was installed on my ship. I have the Jemisen space port container active, by the way. When i landed several yards from the lodge front door, i got the debug text in top right saying the network was disconnected. I removed the GSN interface from inside my ship, the only thing i changed, and haven't had this problem since. I know this is not a solution, only a work-around though.

You were right, my lost items were still sitting in one of my networked containers! I still don't know for sure what I did that triggered the (partial) disappearance but fast travel between two adjacent outposts probably had something to do with it.

I don't use FT that much but I have two outposts right next door to each other, both with network storage containers (one still containing my items) , only one outpost with a shipbuilder and I do FT between the two outposts, so it's possible. Or maybe your update today just fixed it?

Either way, everything's back so no harm done! I just deactivated the full container and everything was restored to the others.

      Great glad to hear it.

The issue I (hopefully) fixed is specifically to do with fast traveling from inside the ship (with a ship panel connected) to any other nearby location on land (as in, the ship does not relocate).

As for outposts being right next to each other - you are in unknown territory :)

The mod relies on there being only ever being one container 3D loaded. If there is more than one, the last one to load in will get the items, and the other will be empty. But if your 2 containers are far enough apart that they each unload/load as you move between them, then things should work perfectly.

Now I'm thinking about it, there are ways I can get around this just for outposts. OnLocationChange events should fire when the player moves in and out of the outpost boundary. But it's not something I really plan on dealing with unless people start to have problems with how it is now. So just let me know if the limitation becomes an issue :)

I have been unable to buy the New Atlantis key.  No matter how long I wait, the technician at the spaceport won't offer it.  I'm sure I am just missing something silly, but I'm not sure what to try next.

**** NEVERMIND - As always happens in these cases as soon as I asked the question, I found the key in the Lodge.

Are the containers and keys only found in specific locations or can they be found in random outposts? I've been searching around for ages and have only got the storage to like 900.

I love the mod but the amount of storage doesn't feel like enough (I could just be a hoarder). Maybe adding random magazines as loot drops that could increase the storage by like 50 each or something would be a nice addition whereas the actually container/keys could be the much larger upgrades?

Thanks for the feedback. They are in specific locations only - Pretty much all of the spaceports, plus another 4 or 5 currently that are tied to non-faction quest locations. I don't want to spoil it. But you won't find them in random POIs. And yes, I am definitely thinking about skill magazines! I think they would be a nice addition.

I've personally found the storage to be plenty, at times I have felt like I definitely had too much, but I am slowly but surely filling it. I've been playing with it since level 1 and now I'm at around 50...so my network has grown with my character. At times it has definitely been a trade-off between paying for ship upgrades or more storage, which is exactly what I was going for.

Maybe if you are adding the mod mid-game, it's a bit more difficult to get the network up to the size you need?

If you are only at 900, then there are plenty more locations...sounds like maybe you just need to buy moar :) How are the costs working out? Too expensive?

I can't seem to be able to build the outpost container or the ship terminal. They don't appear in the list. I've found the key in The Lodge, bought the upgrade from the technician in New Atlantis and unlocked Outpost Engineering 1.

EDIT: Nvm, I got it now. I have to find the container first. I missed that part.

    Hello,

    I have some questions:
    1. Can you give me a brief overview, how much storage this system gives at the beginning. Are we talking about 100-200  or 1000-2000....
    2. Overall how mach capacity a newly added  storage gives for what cost?  (eg 100 storage on average 1000 creds...)
    3. Is it possible to build storage linked to the network within the ship (what is working permanently, regardless where the ship is)?
    4. If the answer above yes: if there is contraband in the network, will it be detected when the ship is scanned?
    5. if storage active on the ship, can crafting stations use the material from them?

The immersive nature of your mod is tempting for me (compared to the other similar mod), I just cant decide :D

(read through the description before, but didn't find the answer there or just simply not sure- if its there, sorry fort that, im just old and senile :) )

Small containers that you find for free in the world add 50 mass to the network (e.g at the Lodge and the Eye). In one or two rare cases this is much higher (400).

Containers and storage upgrades that can be purchased always add a medium amount - 250.
The base cost for a container key or storage upgrade is 30,000 credits.

A discount or premium may then be added depending on the location. In some locations (e.g New Homestead) you can get up to a 50% reduction. In other places the price can increase as high as 100% (e.g. Neon).

The cost is also affected by your Commerce perk rank:
      Rank 1: 5% discount
      Rank 2: 10% discount
      Rank 3: 15% discount
      Rank 4: 20% discount

The cost of storage also scales depending on how much storage you already own. For every 100 mass you already own, you will pay an additional premium of 2%.

I am thinking about adding some Skill magazines in the future that could add a permanent discount of say 1-2%, and a permanent storage increase of say 50. Because I don't want to just put containers absolutely everywhere, this might be a nice way to add some immersion e.g you would find the magazines in relevant locations, such as in the cargo area of a large star station you might visit during a quest.

You cannot build a normal container inside of your ship. Only the remote panel is available, which only allows you to connect to the network when your ship is landed or docked near to a container.

When the ship panel is connected to the network, everything inside the ship (crafting stations and the build menu) will pull resources from the network.

Hopefully that answers your questions :)

Exactly the kind of storage option I've wanted. Still getting the hang of it, but well done.

The panel that I built in my ship doesn't have any display like the one in your screen shots. I still have the ability to interact with the storage. Just wondering if there is useful info I'm missing out on? If not then not worried about it. Plenty of flashy doodads in there as it is.

    Thanks

That’s weird. If your ship is nearby a container, you got the “storage is connected” notification and you can access the contents from the panel, the screen should be lit.

Does rebuilding the panel fix it, or does the problem persist? Just move your ship to make it disconnect before you delete the panel, this ensures your items stay within the network, rather than getting transferred into your ship cargo.

And glad you like the concept! I've been hankering for a mod like this myself since the game came out. I finally decided it was time to get to grips with the creation kit and just build it.

Tried rebuilding after disconnecting from the network and got the same results. I have storage at The Clinic and my Outpost. I can see the contents when I'm at either location but no screen display. As long as I can access the items stored I'm OK.

I'm running 63 mods on this profile so could be something else holding it up. Nothing seems to be interfering with the cargo itself or the network functionality. I'll run with it like this and do some testing on another save. I'm happy to try anything else you think might effect it.

      Thanks

Tried it with only Script Extender, Address Library, SKK Fast Start (to skip intro and start near storage), and Better Backgrounds (for Payload skill at start), and still have a blank screen. If nobody else has this issue then just chalk it up to some legacy cruft I have floating around in my install. I have been modding my Starfield since it was first released and in those days we had to do some crazy stuff to do it.

I am happy with the functionality of this mod and am not worried about cosmetics. Keep up the good work.

Is that with v1.0.4, the update I just uploaded? It includes a new, higher resolution texture for the screen...there is a chance I exported something wrongly with it the first time around, so it's definitely worth trying.

Your hunch was correct. My game was looking for the texture file in My Documents/.../Data/Textures folder. When I copied the screen texture to that folder it lit up as intended.

I use One Drive which has been a curse since I loaded Starfield and started modding. I will have to get serious about getting that issue sorted, which is no small feat.
