Thank you, very much. I've never considered doing such things. I don't believe I have the knowledge to do it, but I'll research about it. I make no promises, though. :-D
The cool mods you reference replace some existing characters phenotypes with custom ones. You can achieve the exact same result in game if you have a working Chargenmenu installed and apply this preset to any existing companion (of the same sex if you want facial animations). A fully fledged standalone companion represents a lot of work, including new dialog lines, reactions etc. It's kind of complex and also a massive endeavor.
Edit: wow I just saw the crazy stuff you released for skyrim, the explanation was obviously useless :P
yeah, I know that is an option but my understanding is that using that gun thing is not permanent. I want something that doesn't have to be redone every time I go through the unity. Actually more interested in replacers for some of the dog faced companions and crew already in the game.
:D If you apply a preset to a companion and save your game (with or without NPC enhancer gun), you will keep this modification for the whole playthrough, but it will indeed be reset after Unity.
To create an unity-immune custom companion with a preset :
Spoiler:
Show
1. Create/Load the desired preset in game with Chargenmenu.
2. Save your preset in the .NPC format. (instead of .json, this option is available in Chargenmenu UI)
3. Launch the CK, load Starfield.esm
4. Find the NPC record by searching for a part of its name. (e.g. 'marika')
5. Open the record and go to the 'Face Customization' tab
6. Press 'Import', find your .NPC preset file and load it.
7. Correct all values in the 'Post Blend Face Customization AVMS' frame by multiplying them by 1.5 , at least when they differ from '1.0000' (=approximative CK CGM import-export bug compensation, works for me)
8. If your preset uses only vanilla or mod managed resources, it's not necessary to bake "FCT" and "'Chargen Mesh Geometry" and create an archive. (i.e. you can usually skip that, works for me)
9. save your .esp , export as small or full .esm
10. In game, with your new custom NPC mod loaded, if it has not already changed, select the NPC in console and enter these commands : recycleactor (will also reset inventory) resurrect
I'm sorry, guys. But even with so detailed explanation, I don't think I will be able to make it. Although I've been using mods for many years, I don't think I'm capable of doing much more than share a character preset. But if you or anyone want to make a replacer and post here on Nexus, feel free to do it. :-)
? I gave this workaround as a potential useful contribution for you and everyone, that was a friendly gesture that wasn't meant to offend you and I showed you proper respect.
Oh no, I wasnt offended and did not mean to offend you in any way. Sorry if it came off like that. Just sincerely hoping you might post it if you wanted to.
What are you talking about, the two pictures on the extremities are a work of art, a collaborative one in fact, just a touch is enough to create great stuff, share it and deserve social gratitude.
I think it's more a matter of taste. I like to play with a redhead character. The reason I've shared her presets is because a player asked for it and I've said I would, and here she is. I understand that there are people will like her, others won't. And it's ok. :-) Thank you, very much, for your comment.
You can't read? It's Sarah face morph, same eye shape, same nose, same jawline, mouth etc. The game doesn't have complexion, contour, normal map for shadowing etc... All Starfield western female preset look EXACTLY the same, barely some slight tweak here and there and a different hairstyle.
It's not about redhead chars guys, it's about Starfield very limited character builder, we are miles away from Dragon's Dogma char builder and let's not even talk about modded Skyrim.
Hmm I found every shape you listed somewhat different, perhaps that is linked to the mods I use : I see what you mean with the chargen interface, to assess that a little I use Extended Facial Scultpting that helps by adding some very useful sliders, perhaps it also makes NPCs better rendered when the textures and geometries are not baked. If you try it, it will add extra dimensions to your creative power right away, great stuff, essential for eyes, but also for quite everything, you will see :)
Very nice-looking character -- much better than anything I've come up with on my own ... will try the mod out.
and later edit after playing -- she's great -- endorsed.
small FYI .. I have the Creations version of the hair mod ... just have to choose that same style (or other preferred, of course) but the one in your pics is there and can match
... and where did the purple come from in your picture #1 ?? ... oh, playing more it looks like VTAW's outfit seems to change color, depending on lighting.
About the outfit, yes, it's from Vtaw. Picture location is Neon, near the main elevator, plus a little positioning and filtes at the photo mode and I've gotten that effect. :-)
Thank you, very much. Much of her is made using vanilla assets. Her hair is from a mod and I others just to enhance. I've listed all I use on requirements and on description. A freckles mod, though, could come handy...

If you don't mind me asking, what's the name of the starborn armor mod you're using in the pictures?
That armor comes from KZ Aggregation of Scraps. The armor itself is "Starborn Zeta Space Suit", with the "Quasar Skin".

Then I gave you and this kind modder the detailed method to achieve what only you asked for.
All the best m8
I don't see any difference with the hundred of other Sarah clones, is Starfield Chara builder so restricting?
