Hey Will, this mod is great.  It makes no sense to not be able to domesticate all local fauna and flora.  Especially with how incomplete the Outposts links are, etc.  Perfect mod.

I see you have a bunch of buyer mods as well, I may set up my first factory.  Right now, I do get all organic and inorganic resources as a challenge and so I can craft whatever I want WRT Armor and Weapons, but doing some factories for fun might also be good.

I worked with you a bit on the StarUI Mod patch fix, helping people get it workign on MO2.

Good to see you creating your own mods now.

Great mod, but really could use a version that doesn't impact scanner range and quantity adjustments as there are already many mods for that.

Thank you for this. Any chance we'll get a mod that will let us domesticate flora on barren planets? I'd really use that green house as an actual green house.

There is a fantastic mod on Creations by the genius TankGirl44 Called Galactic  Harvest. It cost 800 credits but does that to an extreme.

Thanks for a version that keep vanilla range/clicks-to-full.  I've ditched the Creations version for now.  Any change you'll change the different options from being different downloads to Settings?

That would make things easier but it's beyond my ability at this point. I need to find a bunch of mods that use the settings menu and try and figure out how they do it.

How well does this play with mid-save installation. I can see the materials in the builders menu but it says it requires scanning still, however it's a planet I have already scanned so I can no longer scan it again. Is there a solution or is this unavoidable?

It looks like you will not be able to domesticate a plant or animal on a planet or moon if you previously scanned them and found you couldn't domesticate them. I don't know if that history carries over into NG+ but I don't know why it should. This mod works best for new locations.

Hi there, I was having that issue, however, if you open you scan and get close to the resource to extract it, will fix the issue and if you save and reload you'll be able to scan normally again.

I have customized my scanner with my own CCR mod, which I spent a lot of trial and error on until I got it just right.
I would love to use this mod. Would it work without conflicts and without changing my settings?
CCR makes my settings load on game startup, I don't know if changing the loading order up or down would have any effect.

That's a tough one. Without knowing what changes are made with the CCR mod I don't know if there would be conflicts. In general, when you exit my mod using the WESTOFF1 console command the settings are returnrd to what I understand are the vanilla settings. The CCR mod may have changed these so there would be a conflict. I gues it would be rectified by closing and restarting which would load your CCr settings and override wha I consider vanilla.
      What is the CCR mod?

Well, I haven't installed your mod yet, I suspected there might be conflicts, so nothing is broken yet.
My scanner mod isn't on Nexus, I made it by messing around with console commands. I made a text document (scanner.txt), and then a .toml that runs "bat scanner". These are the settings:
      SetGS fHandScannerBaseRange 1000
      SetGS fHandScannerScanRange 250
      SetGS fHandScannerScanRangeSkillMult 20
      SetGS iHandScannerAnimalCountBase 1
      SetGS iHandScannerPlantsCountBase 1
      SetGS fHandScannerMapMarkerMinRange 1500

I have many other mods (too many) and everything works (almost) perfect, but the balance of my load list is delicate. It's important for me not to exceed the limits I have set for the scanner. This way it works almost as far as the eye can see, but if I increase any parameter I start to suffer CTD, or sudden drops in FPS. That's why it's important for me to keep my settings.
Is there a way to use your mod without changing these settings? Could it be a version that doesn't include the scanner settings?

Thanks for your answer, and congratulations on your mod. I've been looking for something like this since the game was released.

The only setting that is shared by your setup and mine is the fHandScannerBaseRange. WESTON sets it to 5000. WESTOFF1 resets it to 50 (vanilla setting). WESTOFF2 sets it to 200. You setting is 1000.

The other changes to the scanner set the angles of visable resources and do not change GameSettings. They are .ini settings that may persist so I've given choices of how much you want the scanner to show with WESTOFF2 or return to Vanilla with WESTOFF1.Take a look at my video to see what they do.

Here's what I recommend. Download the mod and put the three .txt files in your Starfield directory as per the instructions. It doesn't do anytning until it is called up from the console. Start a game with your settings, do a hard save, and then, from the console, type Bat WESTON, enter, and quit the console. Try it out. Then exit with Bat WESTOFF2 and see if the lower range setting is a problem. If you don't like any of it run Bat WESTOFF1,  close, delete the .txt files, and reload your hard save. No harm, no foul. If you like the other features of WESTOFF2 you can edit the .txt and change the base range from 200 to 1000. and run it again. Or, if you send me a PM, I'll send you a link to a  version that keeps the scanner and speed changes but sets your base range to 1000. I could post it but things are already confused with separate endings. However, if enough people want a longer range I could post WESTOFF3

Let me know how it goes. I think you will love it the first time you fly up.

Sorry, I'm a bit confused with your instructions, the download only contains a .esm file. I don't know where the .txt files you're talking about are, and without them I can't run the bat commands.
I've decided to test it out at my own risk. I installed the mod without disabling my settings, and it seems that CCR loads them after your mod. I can now domesticate every living thing, but my scanner settings haven't changed and it doesn't cause me any more problems than usual (flying with an infinite jetpack and the scanner on was never a good deal, and it still isn't).

Something I've noticed, I don't know if it's because of your mod or one of my other hundreds of mods, is that I can't domesticate undomesticable flora or fauna that I've already scanned before installing the mod.
When I scan those species they don't get highlighted in green even if they're 100% scanned, they stay in blue and I can't scan them again. I can't craft the resource on the farm or greenhouse either, it tells me it needs to be scanned, which I can't do.
If I go to another planet where the same species exists, and where I haven't scanned it yet, I can scan them, they are domesticable, and I can get the resource.
It doesn't seem like a big deal. My farm on Zeta Ophiuchi will have to wait for the next NG+, but your mod works and is great. Thanks a lot!

Wow am I embarrased. I went to your comments without observing which mod you were asking about. My other mod, Wills Enhanced SurveyTool, is all about scanning changes so It seemed that you were asking about that one. Stupid. I'm sorry.

In your setup with this mod, load order is critical,  It does change the base range to 400 and will overwrite your CCR settings. So load mine first. As to the problem of previously scanned flora/fauna I don't have an answer. It maybe caused by both mods changing he number of scans. Changing the load order may help.

But I do have a way around it. There is a  fantastic new Mod called "More Manufacturing and Item Sorting" (https://www.nexusmods.com/starfield/mods/10639) that provides cloning machines that can make Nutrient and Fiber with Water and then any organic with Nutrient and Water. Each machine is equal to a default greenhouse in production. I've done a video which should be out today https://www.youtube.com/@willny4.

Again, my apologies for leading you down a rabbit hole. I'm glad you find he mod helpful for new scanning.

Haha, it must have sounded really weird to you that I told you to remove scanner upgrades from a scanner upgrade mod. Nevermind.
Now that we're on the same page, I'm sorry, I have to ask again. Would it be very difficult to have a version of THIS mod that doesn't change the scanner settings, just with the ability to domesticate?

I have posted the 4 scan version but be aware that if you have maxed out your skills the game will reduce the scans to 1 again. I guess I will have to put up an 8 scan version if there is interest.

This is fabulous, I love a combo mod like this... three birds, one stone.
Thanks for adding the 4 scans version, it offers a sense of progression as we level up skills to reduce it down to one scan.

I would love to get this mod, however, I am reluctant to having my scans only reduced to 1 per flora or fauna.  I enjoyed the serenity of surveying and though I was pleased when my skill got me to 4 scans to complete a animal or plant, I think reducing it to 1 would feel like a cheat to me.  I definately can see the advantage of being able to domesticate any animal or plant found on a planet and raised in the appropriate facility, that interests me.  I'm on the fence .

I understand. My sister mod that only domesticates animals keeps the scan at 4 which parallels the excellent Domesticate All Flora mod available here and on Creations. For me after 15 months of running and scannng I thoughtI paid my dues.

However, it is not difficult to change. Let's see how it plays out.

I get ya,  I have 3,682 hours in game myself since it launched.  So I know about paying dues lol.  I even have a you tube channel dedicated to starfield .  I mostly do mod demos.  Ok I'm gonna get the mod and give it a go.  I should probably start with your Fauna one first.

I have to agree here, personally, I've scanned the same animal 8 times (or 4 depending on perks) soooo many times, i probably know better than the game does what produces what where. :- )

A unity trip should reduce all such 'knowledge' requirements by 1, so by NG8, you are down to the minimum of 1.
But just my personal take. I also use easy lockpicking because after 3500 hours, I was done with the mini-game. I turn it off now and then just to keep in practice, but generally leave it on since lockpicking was not where i found my joy in Starfield. And as you said, dues paid.

When I first read the description I was thinking this added all flora/fauna to the domestic list on al planets, but after re-reading I am assuming it is limited to the world they are actually on. While the idea of creating and managing/supporting a massive intergalactic zoo is intriguing, hey maybe a new mod idea,  I like keeping things planet-specific. .. although in a 3rd read, I'm unsure on this again
"reduce the complexity and frustration in operating multiple cargo links and outposts" makes it sound like anyhting anywhere.

if you can clarify for my sleep-addled brain I would appreciate. I already have ZeeOrges mod (I use the AIO, but there are standalone versions flora/fauna) on creations that I think does this same thing (planet-based) and requires 4 scans of flora and fauna. So I guess the only benefit here would be if this new mod would let me start on that intergalactic Zoo...

I will post a 4 scan version today and, to be clear, this mod does not change any locations for any plant or animal and does not change any map marker. l'll include the scan changes in the description once I get back to my pc.

Thanks for your comments and questions.
