Been wanting to look into modding the game to allow me more shield generators, reactors and grav drives. Cool to see a ship beyond the limits, should share your secrets haha
The ships in Starfield look embarrassingly horrendous and uninspiring compared to Star Citizen. I'm hoping modders can drastically improve this once the dev tools are released but I don't really know how any of this works so not sure what will be possible as far as that goes.
I prefer these a hundred times over the ultra sci-fi of Star Citizen. and another thing I absolutely hated about starfield ships was the silent engines with no rumble on landing or take off, there in starfield it's so much better!
Starfield is a released game, and didn't blow through half a billion dollars. It's superior to Star Citizen for that first point alone. Stop comparing it, the comparison is not favorable to Star Citizen.
You don't have to buy any ships using real money in Star Citizen. All you need is a 45-dollar pledge. Every ship is purchasable in-game using in-game money. Just takes an hour or two to farm and you've got yourself a 750-dollar ship. The whole idea of spending money on Star Citizen is to support its development.
Sure man, enjoy those cutscenes. If I spend 8 hours in Star Citizen travelling to another planet you can bet I could actually land there. As an SC player, I was super hyped for Bedthesda's first space exploration game. Sadly the finished game came off quite short against an alpha. The modding scene is great so I doubt it would stay that way for long.
Although i do agree with ur point, i should mention that the "industrial" and "rugged" look of the starfield ships is also quite nice, the main problem, at least imo, is lack of parts, there's just not enough variety for shapes, like slopes, ramps, halfbloks, etc. And even though I don't expect SE type customization, i would love to see smth close to it
Problem with the ships in Star Citizen.......and i have 97% of them, is they are mostly useless, eunuchs, the only ships that have any use at all are the GRINDY ones. CIG just keeps on releasing rehashes (fury/cutter)....give me a break, hell you can't even ''custom paint your ship'', and before you rattle on, no you won't, CIG have laid out the reasons backers cant be trusted. Starfield is FUN, deep and aleady has over 500 mods, dont go on about SC, they dont get a look in...and im Concierge.
Wow you can feel the cope in this thread. Star Citizen hasn't released, Starfield has, fair. But, Starfield has released unfinished, unpolished. In short, it has released in an unnacceptable state for a triple A game.
Lack of facial expresions in a game in which the main content is basically dialogue and roleplay. I've seen it called Starefield, and it's accurate, NPCs just turn their heads to stare at you as you walk in a crowd. Take a minute to try it yourself, it feels like Inception.
Extremely spongy enemies. Higher difficulties are unplayable, not because they're hard, AI is dumb as hell, even dumber than ever before, but you just don't have enough ammo. Normal difficulty is still spongy as f*#@ for what it is.
Loading screens galore. I'm not asking for a fully seamless experience, but it's 2023, having to go through a loading screen to go into a small building is unnacceptable. Say what you will, it IS unnacceptable, and we have Creation Engine to thank for that bullshit.
Now for some s#*! Starfield actually does WELL
There IS actual space exploration. You find a lot of random encounters by simply not abusing fast travel. There was this post I read, in which I saw someone call space "the proverbial Skyrim forest", you'll miss a lot of stuff if you just fast travel to the cities. And, it is true.
Ship building, say what you will, it's intuitive, and it just works. Yes, we need more parts, yes, some changes could be made. But overall, ship building is one of the most fun aspects of this game, saving up for new engines, finally buying a new reactor and seeing an instant improvement on your systems. It's genuinely a lot of fun.
Side quests, there is a lot of stuff to do, and it's arguably more fun than the actual main quest, as it tends to be with Bethesda games.
Modding, the Creation Engines is absolute f*#@ing shit. BUT, it's also responsible for Bethesda's games being the biggest modding communities, except maybe Minecraft. Just go to Nexus homepage. Starfield is already in the 56th place, and we don't even have f*#@ing modding tools yet.
I think so many people got lost in the hype, that they forgot who was making this game, the ones responsible for Fallout 76. I knew what I was getting into, but that doesn't make the state it released in any less unnacceptable, it's genuinely shameful.
The best way to make enemies hard, which almost all developers dont understand for some reason, is to make them hit hard. As in you being punished for making dumb mistakes (like just stand in the open while fighting). However the enemy should go down fast when you shoot them with hard hitting weapons because you also want to feel powerful. Bullet sponge enemies make you feel like a weak wet fart and thats just not fun gameplay wise. So instead of bullet sponge enemies make them hit you really hard so its between you or them. Maybe make harder enemies also use cover more (be smarter). I LOATHE bullet sponge enemies bar some bosses that should take time to take down where you have to outlast them. Sometimes its ok. But for normal enemies? No. Its the easy way out for devs and they almost always take it.
Cant add too much about SC. When i heard about it over a decade ago i was pumped as hell. Having seen the development never ending has left a bad taste in my mouth. I dont mind continuous development of a game to keep it fresh for many years but it sure seems they overshot their expectations with what they could accomplish in a reasponable time. Still i see some fun footage now so i might pull the trigger on the cheapest entry.
Does it have better performance than SF? This game seriously sucks performance wise. Standing in a forest that look a million times less detailed than other games i have but gives me 40FPS on medium is just not right when i play on high/ultra in other games with far better graphics. Lets hope some patches fixes this.
Yohoho and a barrel of sunk cost fallicy. whenever there is a space themed game the brown sea gloops about trying to compare it with a scam thats blindingly obvious to all but the saddest, most desperate no-lifers around. its like the poor chap whith "kick me" on the back of their jacket, but they embroiderewd it themselves.
hi how far into the game is this save file and what level is this character i like the design i think Bethesda Game Studios should implement a share tool that will allow us to share our ship designs
irk? it should have been a basic in-game feature, like sharing your ship design with other players should be included in the the base game. I remember Mass Effect Andromeda had a feature where players could share their character designs on EA's official website, All you needed to do was download one of the designs and you could immediately use the character preset in-game.
It's a cool ship, nice job on it. But, some sort of guide to recreate it in our own saves would be very welcome. Hopefully with the CK, we can maybe add custom vendors/add custom ships to pre-existing vendors in the future. Until then, slim pickings.
There would be no point of creating one as of now, the ship is not really playable, its more of a concept. I'll make a better one, or a couple, when i can lay my hands on the updated xedit and sfse(cause its unreal to make smth complicated rn) and make guides for the ships and the tools
