WARNING: This mod replaces vanilla cockpits, which have significant interactions with other parts of your ship. The first time you activate this mod it will reset the interior of your ships. Items you've placed with the decorator will become non-interactive in decorator mode. You'll still be able to use them in play mode for a short time, but the next time you save your ship in the shipbuilder all decorator items will disappear. Some users have even reported CTDs in the shipbuilder. As with any mod, please make sure you do a back-up save before installing this.
Basic troubleshooting I'd recommend for anyone having issues with cockpits after installing this mod: 1. Exit your ship and re-enter. See if that fixes it. 2. In shipbuilder, sell and then re-buy your cockpit. Save your ship. See if that fixes it.
Could we possible get a standalone version of this mod, instead of replacing vanilla parts, just add on to them, maybe? Other than that, it definitely looks very well made.
I'd love to see a co-pilot seat added to the cockpits. I was thinking mainly of the Viking cockpit, but I think the same could probably be done with most of them. Move the pilot's station to the left, and then add a co-pilot station (duplicate of the pilot's station) next to it on the right. Maybe only add it to the highest tier versions of each cockpit, which would also add an additional crew station of course.
A simple work around for resetting the interior is to use a non-vanilla cockpit on your ship before loading this mod. I used one from Matilija's Aerospace, but any should work. Save and exit the game. Then after loading this mod, you can use whichever cockpit from Graf's that you want.
Nice mod! I see in a couple photos what appears to be a much narrower navigation console. Did you create that yourself? All the available nav consoles I’m aware of (including ship deco mods) are square and rather large. The narrower one you have would be a great stand alone option for ship modding.
Anyone using this alongside TN's All in One Ship modifications?
I'm guessing the changes made by TN's Cargo Hold's mod that also increase the Captain's Locker size would be lost if this is placed lower in the load order?
does the pilot captain's seats still have the animations like pulling the dashboard navigation panels towards you when sitting down and pressing buttons when grav jumping etc?
Just a heads up. It might be my big mods list, but when I updated the TIGER SHIPYARDS OVERHAUL without removing his stuff from the ship first, because the IDs for some stuff in the mod changed, it reseted some info for the ship, that's expected. But it seems to have caused your mod to retrigger the initial full ship reset, deleting everything inside out of existence. This might be a very specific occurrence, but it might also have been caused by starfield thinking your mod was new and retriggering it again. Maybe make the initial reset something activatable by utilizing an item, so that if starfield does starfield things, the reset doesn't happen accidentally.
I've always liked the Cabot, Aries, and Viking cockpits (in that order), this mod pulls the Viking ahead of the Aries, since the latter was not modified.
I have noticed that the Cabot seems to have a companion/crew spawn point in the front left of the command seat that doesn't allow that crew member to move from it, blocking a good part of the view to the left. (Only happens, so far, when I opt to go straight to the cockpit when entering the ship (R), and not when I walk through it.)
(Now then, if the Aries modules could feel some love ...)
Is there any way you can change out some of the metal for glass for the Viking 220 cockpit. Similar to how this mod requester shows it in their images: https://forums.nexusmods.com/topic/13215633-stroud-eklund-cockpit-interior/#comment-130477905
I second the motion for an extended shield on the Viking cockpit; right now flying it in 1st person is a rather underwhelming experience. Great and sensible additions all around otherwise, thank you!

I noticed that npcs will step on my lap in the samurai cockpits, preventing me from interacting with star maps.
Aside from that its perfect (:
